Mistakes in TSK

1) Bad camo for military logistics and transport equipment, Aircraft (Army) and IFV/Tanks.
2) No helmet cover for regular infantry
3) Although SF are well trained only SAT commando are well supplied and look proffesional
3) Better transport system. No land rover unless its heavily pimped up like the British army
3) More Oktar mk2
2) Normal Infantry lacks body army and systems like the US army or the Bundeswher
3) Lacks good air defense. No Anti Ballistic missiles until later 2012. No start on the J class air defense.
3) Needs more F 16 block 52/60
4) TN needs at least 30 frigates and 10 destroyers BUILT IN TURKEY
5) Needs better AWS.
6) TAF fails in compensation to IAF. Copy their tactics and training.
7) No known Electronic warfare system known in TSK inventory
8) Needs a system like Aegis to Protect smaller naval fleets from Ariel assault (e.g Excoset attack)

Thats not an excuse. Look at the isrealis, there bugets is 2/3 of Turkey. Yet hey have the best air-force in the world, a 5,000 km ICBM, 1,000 Merkava etc... with similar active force numbers and use conscription...

*they have the best Airforce in middleast and med..

yh when they get 5 billion aid from america , thats like 50 f-15s per year , they spend like 10% of budget on defence , they are surrounded with enemies , they have full support of USA . what else they need? there navy is 1/10 of ours

if you want everysoldier to be like this and want 5000km ICBM you need atleast 30 billion for our army

Looks are not important. This is an Army not a beauty show. American infantry outfit needs to look cool and fancy because they need to lure in nuckle head American youth that want prestige. Turkey doesn't have that problem since Army service is mandatory.

Why on Earth does TSK uses SDV and RPKs etc.. Why do we see fugly looking M60 tanks in the east and not the M116 base IFV which is in the thousands (FNSS)

i agree , we should be more organised , more proffesional , more advanced , like 2020 , 1500 altay , 500 leopard , f-35 , latest f-16 and another fighter , smaller force but better equiped and more profesional we dont need 700,000 land army

Sounds logical.....better equipped and more situational awareness at all level is the future of warfare. With F-35 coming in your closet not to forget advances F-16, and adding strategic bombers will make it force to reckon with.

It all depends in threat being faced. Israel has to beef up its strength due to its small size, where as you can have much bigger force.....increase in defense budget in required as you can't follow others miitary doctrine, multi-faceted growth is needed.

Comparing and changing weapon arsenal coz of other country should not be the basis but your own strategy. One country has to think of other possible rivals as geopolitics changes every now and then.
