Yes surely you can die a 1000 ways but an accident in a nuclear reactor has the ability of affecting ppl in multiple states depending on the severity, unlike a car accident.


I still agree with you Subi, India needs nuclear energy to move forward I was only arguing how we need to do much more in emergency handling and saefty procedures. For one, hiding or suppressing such info, is not helpful becoz we cannot learn from our mistakes and enat necessary changes. I only argued with this idiot Rocky to prove a point....that he lied and I did no. No more, Im out of here. I feel vindicated especially with my last post proving that I never stated such things which he accused me of. Anyhow, cancer is becoming a huge concern and our govt is doing nothing to control it. The use of Endosulphin, Asbestos laden, toxic ships being broken down of the coast of Gujurat by villagers wearing no protective gear (these ships cannot even be broken down in Europe without spending huge amounts, so these countries dump it on us and then call INdia dirty which makes my blood boil), Europe dumping medical waste in India, lack of a FDA till now, no stringent environmental controls on chemcials, etc. Folks like to put me in a box and label me as a Greenie but they fail to realize that what I listed is not about being "green" its about safety. If we contaminate our living space, we will surely contaminate our bodies. its laready happening.


I stated our gov;t is hiding the facts from us, even with RTI was filed. Misinforming the public will only lead to more problems.

Enough of your BS. YOu are the one exposing malafide intentions, India wont progress if it fails to heed to the poor, uneducated and under represented. It will lead to more problems. Everything is not as rosy you portray it. First of all, there are folks complaining about living near such reactors even in the US and steps are being taken to shut down some reactors. It reuires the will of the ppl. Some other places, don;t have an issue with it due to the fact that taxes are lower when you live near such reactors in the Western world. Ask yourself, why property vaues of real estate is much lower in areas that share proximity to reactors. Do some research on cancer clusters. Let your mind open up for a change. India should have an open forum and debate, open to the media and public. What do you think will come of it?

Relocate the fishermen if you wish, but then take the necessary steps to ensure that they are well, well taken care of. Make sure that you set a standard that is high, so more ppl will be willing to move and accomodate development. If done properly, Tribals could be enticed to follow this path. At the same time, ensure and update safety and emergency procedures.

If that is the case then there should be Cancer for Indian citizens living near Nuclear power plants. Now where is the scientific proof for what you have claimed!

I agree with you but the govt has a nasty way of using such tactics to press such issues. This could be possibly staged in order to get public sentiment on their side versus the fishermen. I think if NGO's are truly involved then do what has to be done. I am all for it. But ask yourself where is the proof? Why wont the govt or MMS present it to the media. IF they are using the courts to submit such proof, then it will take years in order for the fishermen to prove themsleves and for the truth to prevail while the reactor goes on to be built. Otherwise, stop the construction till
