what's wrong with the use of tanks and artillery against terrorists?

US used strategic bombers and chemical weapons against completely unarmed civilians, and on its ALLIES SIDE, no UN resolution condemning it.

We have been fighting Terrorists harbored by turkey, we mined the border with Lebanon and rushing toward the Syria-Turkish Border we have killed 15 Terrorists attacking our troops near the border yesterday.

Were going to finish off this soon and if anyone tries to invade or attack Syria expect a Scud with Nerve Gas hitting them goes for Turkey and Jordan and the Gulf Arabs, we can turn the entire Region unstable.

While i think Mr. Bashar is a criminal for kiling his own people, i still think that actuall change will only come from the Syrian people, not forced on them by others. He should do the right things, and lead his country to an actual democracy, and steps down.

Syria currently is unstable now through reform is happening limited 2 terms including regional elections, Also Minorities like alawites, Chistians cannot have the same fate as what happened in Iraq by the Saudi funded Wahabi suicide bombers. Assad said it himself if he loses the elections he will leave.

Exactly my sentiments. I am not a fan of Bashar but at the same time change can not be enforced on a people. It has to be an internal process. Mr Bashar should stop caring about his own power if he really loves Syria and go and reach some kind of agreement with the protestors. If that means democracy then so be it. However an American or Western intervention will only lead to them creating 3, 4 countries out of Syria in the name of "democracy". The Middle East needs a strong Syria, the Palestinians need a strong Syria. A weak Syria divided into Druze, Alawi, Sunni, Kurd states will only benefit one country in the region and that is of course those occupying the Golan Heights right now.

Well, i never knew that Syria had sectarian problems, thats new to me.... He should just leave, and call for early elections. Maybe draft a constitution that protects personal freedom, and minorties freedom. I think those things coud be done without Bashar, he can end most of the problems be just leaving.

Can't leave otherwise Alawites will be in fear. it would end up just like Iraq what happened minorities there, many refugees from Iraq came to Syria. they made the same promise when Saddam fell but that promise was broken.

So, in your mind Bashar is like Superman, he is the only hope, he is the ony person in Syria that can protect minorties..... Syrian are great people, and they won't let anybody hurt a certain group of people, you are just insuting your own people.

i see that muslims are squabbling among themselves about whether or not to "boycott" chinese-rus products...

so what the end decision ?

They won't boycott russia and china otherwise that means the saudis have to cancel all their weapons deals and that also means it would just send China back to supporting Iran again.

Nope hes not however this happened in Iraq and Iraqis were great people yet look at how much ethic cleansing from Iraq happened after the invasion.

ITs not about wether a boycott will happen or not.

But that public opinion around the Arab world will turn against Russia and China if they don't handle this positively.

The UN resolution DID NOT have internvetion, it DID NOT have regime change either. India made sure that these two clauses were removed.

What the UN resolution was demanding was a time bounded free and fair election alongiwth withdrawal of heavy artilerry from civilians areas and realease of prisoners.

IF you read the full text, it was quite plain and the only "penalty" was suspension of Syrian govt. recognition.

Assad had promised elections back in September and its almost 6 months now, so an adidtional push is required to resolve this situation.
