Indian Army trains to hit the enemy hard, fast.

Suratgarh: Just one hour from the Pakistan border, the Indian Army unleashed its meanest weapons, to test its readiness for battle. The week long exercise is called Vijayee Bhava.
Four-hundred tanks, 300 aircraft, 45,000 men are practicing in the war games, 40 kilometers from the Pakistan border. Every year since the Kargil War, the Indian Army has trained to strike the enemy hard and lightning fast if ever challenged again.
"Every army fights to win. There is no prize for second place. I believe there is scope for a conventional war without escalating beyond the nuclear threshold," says Western Army Command Chief Lieutenant General SR Ghosh.
Brains over brawn is the new mantra, as the Indian army is now using unmanned aerial vehicles, satellite feeds and televised updates from the battle field to plan operations.

"There is one thing about fighting in the dark. Its another thing entirely to know where you are and where your other units are and to combine your forces for maximum lethality," says Ghosh.

These exercises are essentially training to invade and subdue enemy territory within three to four days. While the Indian Army is confident of doing that, the truth is that in areas like night time operations, air defence and tracked artillery guns, India still has a long way to go.

For a second I thought ... "what??".. the IA is going to use trains to ram the border or something??
The perils of comprehension..

At least the tone clears up the false talk of peace.

Indian Army cannot sit back just bcoz peace talks are going on.

Pakistan army also carries out exercises.

I am happy with these exercises, it shows that Cold Start is very much alive.

Given that comprehension that exercises conducted every year = false hope of peace

sword gets rusty if it is not used at all..
so practice is the best way to keep it sharp :)

yes, we can deduct from simply exercises that peace talk is a false tone. but- what do we deduct from pak armies killing of a BSF a couple of days ago? ah that's must have been a gesture of love...

Yup.. a kiss in return for killing a Pakistani villager by indiscriminate fire.

these are just preparatory measures ....let me turn the question around to the Pakistani members . Peace talks are going on so what is the need for developing missiles , bringing Chinese "engineers " to the northern areas , buying j 10 , JF 17 etc ???

Its all impersonal Defensive preparedness . nothing more , nothing less.....

Read the highlighted part in the article.

So cold start is again being practised. India needs 48 hours to mobilize its army to take action. We may not need 48 hours to arrange means to neutralize them. *hint* - Hatf - 9.

why nobody considers these lines.....

well then you have your answer about peace.

besides personally I've wondered why would India want peace? as it stands now- your India centric military is an Achilles heel for Pakistan marching to economic prosperity and detrimental to your internal security.

old saying- when opponent is digging a hole , step aside and let them dig deeper .

you army can do nothing....just good for talking and retarded rants

all these training is good ...but we need lethal artillery firepower .... without this we can not hit hard ....we can not stop their advances ....

PLEASE GOI do something ...give the tender to BAE SYSTEMS
