'Very difficult' to oust Russia from Ukraine in 2023 - top U.S. general Milley

It’s 188,000 killed and wounded. Russian killed is over 60K+.
I am not going to agree or disagree.
But on the other hand lets wait until the war is over, just like WW2,
where they summarized total losses by each side for the real numbers.

Yes I agree that figure to be in par with invading army losses. 120k-140k losses combined (dead + injured).

Personally I believe pulling out of Kherson without a single dead soldier & re-mobilize & attack in Soledar was brilliant tactic.
I think they have loss some troop north of Kherson and some were taken POW, there were video with that. But yes, their loss is light, compare to taking Sievierodonetsk and Soledar

But then think of it this way, Russia started with 200,000 and then other than locally raised troop, they have mobilised 300,000 which give a grand total of 500,000 + change troop, if they loss 140,000 non-recoverable, which mean 1/3 of their entire force in Ukraine is off the line, and they dont have much to show for, it would beg the question how much more is needed and how long does it take to arm and equip those troop for the next Russian push? Which they need to do between March and June, otherwise they won't be able to do it with those Western IFV arrive in Ukraine forming 4 Mechanized Brigade.....

Man, they are really onto you...
Yes, they are indeed onto him!
BTW, as many words JHungry has written on this forum, he could have written the fabulous Tilism e Hoshruba a few times!:-)

The Russians may leave Crimea if the terms of the sanctions against them are reduced, but everyone doubts Putin would be willing to make that decision.

Putin will probably be assassinated by his own people as part of some back channel deal.
I forgot who just post Russia just post 38 billions loss on their National Health Fund just past month. They only have less than 150 billions left, and if they keep on this rate, the are gonna to drain their national fund in less than 5 months. Their ability of issuing bond is in serious question, I would say unless the Chinese act as a guarantor, there are no way they are going to issue 30 odd billion bond per month, which mean unless the soldier are okay to fight without pay, and factory worker is okay not being paid, their money is going to dry up in 5 months.

This war is not sustainable for the Russian, not with oil less than $100 a barrel, Putin would need to make a decision, how are they going to pay for stuff, do they limit their country spending? Or limit the war spending? That's why many military strategist I know saying the upcoming spring offensive is probably Putin last roll of a dice.

I think Putin's gameplan is to keep the war going for atleast another year, and up the pressure and get better terms for the end of the war dynamics. The US general election in 2024 will be interesting. Currently the Republican Party is in a civil war between the Neocon faction and the Trump/Tucker Carlson wing which wants to pull out of Ukraine. If the US foreign policy apparatus implodes like it did in the 2016 election, when Clinton who wanted an intervention in Syria lost, then Its very unlikely Europe will "go it alone", and potentially capitulate without US backing and facilitation of support.
Aaah Trump. The gift that keeps on giving. Already missing the guy.
Haven't been interested in US affairs since he left.

The Chinese may bail them out, to some extent, only financially, in exchange for the technology they have, that still surpasses Chinese technology; military and civilian. And that window of a technology lead (SSN/SSBN technology, supersonic cruise missiles, engines, etc.) is closing faster with each passing year.

I doubt the Russian would be willing to give back land taken from the Qing dynasty plus Sakhalin (in which case the Chinese would probably be willing to give a lot more money), but even selling just their tech may buy them a few more months. Ultimately, the Russians will have to win this war on their own or come to the negotiating table.

Belarus is preparing for a direct war with Ukraine

A dumb move by the Belarusians if they do.

Hard to do that, because there are no guarantee that the Chinese will take those tech and bug out. Leaving Russia high and dry.

And you are talking about some 30 billions a month, which is around half a trillion a year, that's a lot to ask for the Chinese to dump money into that pit. And if you ask me it's kind of pointless to keep the current situation in Ukraine and then cede land to China.

I don't see how Russia can turn this around militarily. Everything they need to do they needed them months ago, if they had the mobilisation back in June or May last year, then yeah, they can probably make a difference now after half a year of training, now, if you dump the mobilised troop with less than 3 months training, they aren't going to do much. On the other thread, I wrote that Russia loss around 500-700,000 of their young work force, and that's going to be detrimental to Russian economy in a longer run, every year this war drag on is going to be bad for business for the Russian.

Truly magic I guess, mother Vietnamese, father American, born in US, and you Chinese, yes, nothing short of a miracle.

This is a miracle child. We got a miracle child in our midst. We are blessed with a miracle child on PDF.

Sure. You are the statistician who did the counting.

shhhhh..... we didn't build anything. According to Mr Beijing, we can't build anything because no one can outbuild China....

This is how party warriors behave, I think. They leave no rock unturned to gain some browny points for the party. Everything can potentially be used for propaganda, real and fake. Hence, what is deemed as regular and state of things in many countries not in war or under invasion become propaganda items. This is what he has been doing. He thinks that just because the US is not a giant CCTV propaganda machine, nothing happens there. No infrastructure, no development. And the US construction firms build nothing overseas.

I have a giant facepalm when I first saw that post. His post quality have gone so low these day and it's no longer funny anymore....That kind of logic is just tragic....

That anti-Ukraine argument is indeed weird and new. Might be that he received a new set of instructions.

China adopted your mother?

Is trolliing really that fun? want to talk about Israeli human rights glories?

Why do you bring these up when your side's hands are as much dirty?

Just because you don't have a free press, freedom of opposition, independent investigation, freedom of gathering information does not mean that you are flawless or your place is just a giant happy circus where everyone dance in perfect chareography but not in prison, not tortured, not executed, not harassed.

By the way, you suddenly turned anti-Ukrainian, is that because you received a new set of instructions?

Yet, I do not think China's position will change. But party warriors like you must make use of this instance in your anti-West propaganda and discourse war.
