US Approves Possible Sale Of F-16 Equipment To Pakistan: Pentagon

I had to look this name up and realize he flew a Mig-21 when he was shot down (suspiciously by a F16). But did you know that Mig-21 is very old? Like Vietnam-war old? And did you know US made a big deal after Indian media showed some metal crap that was probably from a F16-fired missile instead of one from a JF-17 like Pak claimed? That means F16s are NOT ALLOWED to engage IAF. Pakistan knew it, the Indians knew it, and of course the Americans knew it. What good can the F16s do for Pakistan if they are not allowed to fight the only existential threat against the country? For display only like they're museum pieces?
No one knows how old a mig 21 is and if you knew anything you would know how upgraded the mig was and why would a junk be serving as a front line fighter based in Kashmir. Plus our f7s are similar.

May I ask how old u are?

Excellent advice!
We have enough shit of 220 million Pakistani people to want to buy US shit. US equipment on the other hand, especially with CSF type funding, and consequent benefits 😇😉 will always be viewed favourably. Whether it comes or not is another story.

CSF type funding

Isn't it funny how many people choose to ignore the above fact when berating US taxpayer funded benefits, including F-16s, for Pakistan? :D

(Hence, the "excellence" of the advice, coming from a country also protected by US equipment, above. )

F16s are for display only if they are not allowed to engage IAF. Pakistan purchased these F16s so sign up to be the American hunting hound for 'American' special forces. Kind of sad truth, isn't it? To be an American hunting dog, you got to buy your own GODDAMN dog food that's MIA only.
The 500 aim120C5 weren’t meant for terrorists.
They’ve already shot down 2 IAF aircraft

F-16’s are still better then majority of IAF fleet. Only 4.5 gen aircraft IAF has rn is Rafale. Any new purchase will take years or in Indias case at least a decade. Any upgrades will take years.
As long as india is flying mirage 2000, mig 21, Su 30 mki, mig 29 and jaguar, F-16’s will have a role in PAF.

You guys are talking about retiring F-16’s or saying we have no use for them while we’re desperately tryna mount bvr’s on mirages and still flying F-7’s.

F-16’s are here to stay and will have an important role in Pakistan’s air defence for a long time.

Do you have enough money to replace all F-16’s with J-10CE while needing replacements for legacy mirage’s and F-7?
We’re tryna strap on bvrs on legacy mirages because of our financial situation yet people here want F-16’s to be replaced. LOL!

Looks like they failed on 27 Feb
J-10Cs is comparable to an F-16s in capabilities.

Maybe J-10C is 85% as good as an F-16.

Why replace F-16 then when we still have mirages and F-7’s flying?

Not speaking as an expert - but upgrade paths for Mirages and F-7's are non-existent. No upgrade even for a Mirage 2000 I'd say (forget about III's and 5's) and for F-7, that production line in China was closed. For these types, retirement is the only goal, sooner the better. Unless air-forces want to keep them around as sacrificial attrition targets in skirmishes. And reduce numbers that way. But that is a rather bad way to lose valuable pilots.

Maintenance wise Mirage III's, 5's and F-7s become rather problematic with engine MTBO times being reduced and thereby expensive to maintain. Parts for engines used in these aircraft also become harder to get, even if cannibalized.

For F-16's Lockheed Martin offers all sorts of aftermarket upgrade equipment and even refurb options. Conformal tanks for range improvements, engine, sensor and weapon upgrades, you name it, they have it.

Some of the Pakistani F-16 fleet are the Block 50/52 version which were delivered in the 2016 batch. It features the Improved Performance Engines, either the F110-GE-129 for the block 50 or the F100-PW-229 for the block 52. The F100-PW-229 is lighter and more powerful than earlier F100s, and had been flying at Edwards AFB since mid-1990 in test ship #81-0816. Both engines are rated at 29,000lbs of thrust (129kN). Block 70 will use a more efficient and possibly lighter engine.

This is a block 70 F-16 (future version for Slovakia).

This is Jordan's weapons fit for their block 70's. Note the bombs for ground attack role instead of the AIM 120s as for EU weapons fits. The hump aft of the cockpits is for electronic equipment and sensor use.

Only a fool will believe this 'counterterrorism' nonsense. How is an advanced fighter aircraft helpful for counter terrorism? US has even officially declared Pakistan a sponsor of terrorism? All lies and manipulations. Real purpose is different.
