TTP responds to Shah Mehmood Qureshi's offer of amnesty. “As for forgiveness, forgiveness is sought for mistakes, we’re proud of our struggle, we have never apologized to our enemies. We believe in meaningful dialogue if it ensures implementation of Shariah in Pak,” TTP says

Pakistan needs to accept that TTP is a anti Pakistani offshoot of the Taliban, they hate Pakistan and want its destruction. They must be eliminated. Stop wasting time on useless talks, Pakistan army needs to be sent to tribal areas and support those tribes who are patriotic Pakistanis, train them up, educate them, build schools and slowly destroy TTP and other militant groups who are anti Pakistani. Previously Pakistani government and military supported the Lashkars and Ansar ul Islam against TTP but then abandoned them when TTP, Lashkar Islam started to slaughter them.

There’s no completely eliminating ttp. Ttp mostly Mehsud and wazir tribesman and those tribes mostly all support ttp. They control waziristan. Our army been there for years we kill them more of them will be born and become ttp. What we need is dialogue with ttp and gain public support in waziristan. Waziristan is mostly anti pak and anti pak army no one likes us there. Only way to end this war is by winning the hearts and minds of waziristanis and the first step to that is holding dialogue with ttp. In waziristan everyone has a family member or relative in ttp so unless we hold dialogue with ttp we can’t turn waziristan pro pak. Also we need development there we’ve neglected them for decades and used them for our wars.

There's certain areas in Pakistan that are "trouble" areas that don't like Pakistan. Those are Waziristan, Central Baluchistan, and the areas surrounding Chaman. The first 2 has actually taken up arms against the state, while Chaman hasn't.

Pakistanis on this forum need to realize that Waziristan tribes (Mehsud and Wazir) are both heavily involved in TTP and PTM. They are involved in these activities because of the lack of economic opportunities/development and the image of Pakistan Army. The average Waziri has a very negative view of the army. Integration is the long term strategy that is being employed right now, but for the short term we need to win the hearts and minds of those people.

What's the main issue for this resistance outside of economic reasons

I know CB but for Chaman and Waziristan - ethno-nationalist?, Religion?

Has Pakistan given life to the dead? Weren't TTP's buried under their acts of terrorism and violence? No one has sympathy towards them in the country - but by giving them stage to speak and utter their Sharia deception, looks like we've done a mistake here.

It's better to offer peace before providing RIP

IEA will put an end to TTP because they don't align with IEA core interests because they need Pakistan to function as Dhul Qarnain for them and operate as a gate-keepr to stay strong because they block India from their country and belt in central Asia.

It is not in IEA interests to see unrest in Pakistan this is one of their major foreign policy interests hence they have called to TTP and said publically if they give us Bay'ah they should stop attacking Pak so in my honest opinion IEA will stop the TTP across the border by setting up talks etc etc because it is not in their calculus nor future foreign policy interests and they want Pakistan to rather take Shariah law peacefully in the future whenever it feels like it is ready but the key element for them is that Pakistan stays strong and grows stronger even better. If Pakistan even green lights IEA could cross over the border to eliminate TTP for Pakistan if they were to refuse any reasoning.

Hence TTP's days are short lived and will be no more they will eventually accept the pressure and offers but BLAAF will have to be dealt with and I reckon their leaders have been eliminated in Afghanistan since IEA came to power and will wane out as a result since NDS and Amrullah Saleh is no more their main link to bank from foreign elements is eliminated

This has to do with the stupidity of the Durand Line and the way it cuts through both Pakistan and Afghanistan. Tribes in Waziristan and Chaman actually have family in Afghanistan.

The area of Chaman is historically linked to Loy Kandahar and Waziristan is also historically linked to Loy Paktia. Also include the whole FATA debacle and how the scrapping of FATA is seen as an "imposition" in some areas of Waziristan (there's a reason why the TTP chief talked about FATA and autonomy). In addition, before 9/11 there was no wall so people could walk freely and pretty much do whatever they want. Now the wall is built for security reasons and because a lot of terrorists would abuse the open border to do terror attacks and smuggle in Pakistan. People in Chaman and Waziristan are "naraaz" over that. Also add in the lack of economic development in Chaman and the destructive war in Waziristan, and hence you will see people turn to those ideologies.

The biggest lie that Nammak Harams/PTM say is that all Pashtuns are the same, which is clearly not the case. Pashtuns especially in the rural areas are divided along tribal lines. Pashtun Nationalism is very big around the border regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan because, once again, they have family across the border. Pashtuns whose tribes are more "in land" aren't very ethno nationalist. So you would see a Waziri be anti-Pakistan, while you would rarely see that in a Yousafzai or an Afridi.

Pashtun Nationalism was originally secular with the likes of Bacha Khan and Khan Shaheed Achakzai, but it took a religious turn with Afghan Taliban and post-9/11 with TTP. Although it is "liberal", you will see TTP use both Salafist and ethnonationalist language.

I don't know man. Rise of TTP is gonna be natural with Afghan Taliban takeover..

Ahmed Qureshi NONE-SHAH WANNABEE should just shut his ignorant mouth and retire for the sake of Pakistan.

What an embarassment and liability for his nation. He is just another GHANI.

What an overreaction Qureshi is easily one of the best politicians in Pakistan. His one of the few guys I agree with in everything he says weirdly enough. TTP is very weak and just few individuals nowadays. granting amnesty to the hold-outs was the right way to go about things

People here misread him so badly, his message basically was surrender or get destroyed.
