This news basically indicates failure on two fronts.
1 - Intelligence failure
2 - Logistics/Quick response teams

From the various videos i have watched over the years it is clear that Baluch militants choose isolated pickets/posts to attack and use it to their advantage. To be honest, FC needs an overhaul again in their trainings and their conduct because i have seen these guys very complacent even in the war zone. They are not disciplined like army. I think this is a good time to put FC under Army's control where joint intel set up and joint response teams are created to tackle this menace of terrorism in Baluchistan.

Last but not least, killing foot soldiers is not going to make a dent to planners sitting in our neighboring countries. The war should be taken to their door steps.

Killing enough will make a dent, plus lower morale would mean (1) less people willing to join such groups (2) sponsors of such groups abandoning them.

Well they had long poles we have here in cities for cell networks.

I haven't seen the pictures of the post to comment on that, but it's shameful that if a distress signal was broadcasted and no one sent backup.

You need to eradicate their foot soldiers first, deal enough damage to make a counterattack by them ineffective, then you move onto their HQs, they carry out assassinations and killings in broad daylight, stomp them out first.

I am on board with this. Who is running Pakistan's security operations? How does someone fight a gun fight for hours and not get backup.

They should, too many young lives lost because of incompetence. The same weaknesses are being exploited yet not a slight change in doctrine.

Most of the people in BLA, BRAs etc are smugglers, gun runners and criminals, they're part of the problem too, their presence is why these organisations have so many recruits. You need to deal with them too, otherwise they'll rebrand themselves as something else, like dacoits in Southern Punjab and Sindh, many TTP foot soldiers were the same.

The real sad reality is we are only hitting foot soldiers. We need to hit their real ABBA in at its own turf. Burn their abba on regular bases or you will keep loosing soldiers.

That's the problem, this shouldn't be happening. Soldiers die and so do enemies, but nations tend to learn from their mistakes and improve or change their tactics so as to make sure this doesn't happen again. Not in our case, the entire security apparatus is running around like a headless chicken for the last 2 decades.

On the side note, it's funny on PDF we have senior posters talking about military hardware like jets, cargo planes and what not being acquired by various branches of the forces, that aren't even in the news, yet don't discuss squat about things happening in Balochistan nor about anything being done to fix the issue.
