New Turkish Anti-Israel Film Highlights Revenge against IDF

Turkey is testing the chilly diplomatic ties with Israel with another anti-Zionist production, this time a movie in which a revenge campaign is carried out against a fictitious Israeli who commanded the boarding of the IHH terrorist Mavi Marmara ship last May 31.

In the “Valley of the Wolves – Palestine” film, the “hero” leads a campaign that brutally murders and blows up Israeli soldiers, who are depicted as killers of Arab children. The hero also rescues a man who was kidnapped by Israelis and held at the Israeli embassy.

“We were trying to show that Israel and the United States are behind acts of terrorism," Bahadır Özdener told NTV.

Turkey claims that Israel intentionally murdered nine IHH terror activists on board the Mavi Marmari ship, although IDF films clearly show that the commandoes were viciously attacked while boarding the boat without arms, except for revolvers and paint guns. Anti-Israel activists claim the IDF film was edited.

The new Turkish movie will make its debut in late January, but Turkish television stations already are running a promo for the $10 million production.

Previous shows in Turkey have angered the Israeli government, which demanded that an anti-Zionist television series be cancelled.

All the so called Indian propaganda movies are about wars we won or based on certain real or realistic anti-terrorist operations. we first went out to fight like real men and then made movies abut them. And there are no Indian filmmakers dreaming about conquering Pakistan, what makes you think that we have the slightest interest in anything beyond Kashmir? Just because Turkey was incapable of hurting Israel in any real way, it doesn't justify calling a movie "revenge". How would you feel if someone murdered you and the police wrote a song about arresting the man instead of actually doing it.

On the other hand, the Turkish movie, in my opinion is an insult to the dead men. The men gave up their life for a just cause and the best form of revenge their country could come up with was a movie? It's just an attempt to make money while some wannabe heroes watch it and have mental orgasms.

As for the Indian support for Israel.....Just because India and Israel have defense deals, doesn't mean that all Indians support blindly every Israeli policy. FYI.... some of us have more feelings for the plight of the Palestinians than you could ever imagine. And we have the highest sympathy for the people on aid flotilla as well but that doesn't mean we will rejoice when some loser tries to exploit their deaths through a movie.

I am sure that the producer and instructor of the movie wants to portrait what happened, they would of course base the movie on the interview of the people onboard mavi marmara, and not the movie that israel withheld until they could release their own version. And yes movies are used as propaganda, but if you look back in the past hollywood did the same. To be honest it's very smart and it's a way of spreading the word, very fast. People remember movies based on real incidents.

The first movie "Valley of the Wolves: Iraq" started with a scene where american troops forcefully arrested turkish military etc. Which really did happen, but after that I believe the instructor and writers let their imagination roam, of course stealing organs is also a known phenomenon so playing on that also got attention.

It's very smart to be honest and a good way of spreading the word.

- Heroic "normal" people arming themselves to fight gross injustice
- Jewish secret society head dies a brutal death; crowd cheers.

Forgive me if I'm not too enthused about this sort of film, just as some Hollywood drek shows Muslims as dirty camel jockeys 100% of the time. Sometimes, the media is our worst enemy, as it molds people to a pre-conceived political view that is not realistic.

Claire Berlinski’s must-read article in the September issue of Standpoint describes how the overwhelming majority of Turks have no idea what really happened earlier this year aboard the Turkish Mavi Marmara vessel, where an Israeli boarding party enforcing the blockade of Gaza was ambushed in a premeditated attack with knives and iron bars.

She canvassed Istanbul — where she lives — with a Turkish documentary filmmaker and interviewed a number of local people about that now-notorious incident. None knew the Israelis acted in self-defense when they shot their attackers.

“The men and women to whom we spoke,” she wrote, “were astonished when we told them that Israeli officials had invited the ship to disembark at Ashdod and deliver the aid overland. But they were not disbelieving — and importantly, when we told them this, it changed their view. Many spontaneously said that they knew they could not trust what they heard in the news, that the situation confused them and that something about the story just didn’t sound right.”

Unfortunately, few Turks will ever know what really happened that night. The Turkish media reported a grossly distorted version of the events, describing the attackers as “activists” and the Israelis who fought back as murderers. Most Turks can’t read or speak foreign languages and are therefore unable to learn the truth from newspapers abroad.

A new Turkish film may make the big lie all but permanent in the minds of millions of Turkish people. Kurtlar Vadisi Filistin, or Valley of the Wolves: Palestine, is the sequel to the notorious Valley of the Wolves: Iraq, which was released in 2006. The first installment portrays American soldiers massacring civilians at an Iraqi wedding party and harvesting the internal organs of prisoners to sell to Israelis.

The trailer for the second installment begins with an obviously false portrayal of the Mavi Marmara incident, and a later scene shows Israeli soldiers shooting more than a dozen handcuffed prisoners in the back.

The film’s main character is a Turkish special agent who sets out to avenge those killed on the boat by assassinating the Israeli commander in charge at the time, who is cartoonishly outfitted with an eye patch. “Our hero acts for the rights of the oppressed,” says Zübeyr Sasmaz, the director. “We’re talking about things people don’t want to hear,” says Necati Şaşmaz, one of the actors. “Up until now we have seen only Western heroes such as Rambo and James Bond. For the first time in the history of cinema there is an undefeatable protagonist from the Middle East.”

It’s too bad the story is based on a lie.

The first film in this libelous series was the most expensive ever produced in the country, and this one is slated to cost even more. It’s sure to be a big hit. Hopefully, the Turkish documentary filmmaker Clair Berlinski is working with can push back a little, at least.

Why is a film getting into real political events?fair enough making the film if its just for the movie story but then commenting on it saying USA and israel are terroists lol?
