Shaan wants Pakistan to produce epics about local heroes, history

we can use the money better.

this industry cannot help the youth going forward. its a nepotist exploitation industry with more money laundering holes than swiss cheese.

It can help mera jism meri merzi to bring forward their inner most urges. Their urges are boiling and coming out openly on streets.

He is working in films since 1990. In 90s most of his films were Urdu. Started working in Punjabi films in late 90s. I think chsuhdrani was his first Punjabi film. He was my favorite actor in childhood days

I have seen all his movies and all other movies from 90's during my childhood. Uskay baad Tauba kerli.

Nepotism.
Classism.
Marasiism.

so basically cultural?

then its ok.

do one on Malala and Mehwish Hayat.

If Turkish dramas about their history set the whole world on fire, people from West, ME, Asian countries became obsessed with Ertugrul in particular, Pakistan can do so much more.

We need to have a conservative outlook come from our producers and directors, Instead of the same out of touch over liberalism which finds no currency in Pakistan. Literally Pakistani parents have to cover their children's eyes and ears when our dramas are aired in their homes, it is a big problem.

Let us build a new media industry which is deeply conscious of its internal strength, mores, issues, and can show a humane view of Pakistan to the world.

Japanese cinema started in much the same way after WW2. We can learn alot by studying them, as their social environment is similar to our own.

We are not at all similar to the West or India in culture, hence when Pakistani media copy them, it just seems fake and forced.

Whole world will be converted to Pakistanism, if we play our cards right.

If Imran Khan and Shan are interested, and I am sure ISPR too, then something can be done, I am sure.

I have seen all his movies and all other movies from 90's during my childhood. Uskay baad Tauba kerli.

Imagine actors of the caliber of Sultan Rahi, Mubashar Qureshi, Rangeela, Munawar Zareef in these kinds of modern day epics.

I grew up on these Punjabi films, and even now I quote their dialogue in everyday conversations.

Actor and director Shaan Shahid is not happy about the Turkish epic on Ertugrul Gazi being aired on PTV this Ramazan.

On Prime Minister Imran Khan’s request, the Turkish soap chronicling the life of the Muslim warrior, has been airing on PTV every day. The 179-episode drama series—whose original title is Dirilis: Ertugrul—has been dubbed into Urdu.

According to the prime minister, watching the show will make the youth learn about Islamic history and ethics.

In a tweet on Friday, the actor made a sarcastic remark about the show. Sharing a photograph of a protective face mask, the actor said that he bought a Rs160 mask for Rs2,500.

“This is what we do in Ramazan, high prices on life saving items and food prices also touching the skies…after watching our Turkish Islamic history and learning all the good words and deeds this is what we actually practice,” he tweeted.

Earlier, the Lollywood star had tweeted at Senator Faisal Javed, who is the chairperson of the standing committee on broadcasting and heritage, and asked him to focus on Pakistan’s history and heroes rather than the Turks.

While lauding the senator’s announcement, Shaan said that PTV should produce epics like this.

Shan has always been the same.
Always criticise foreign content while unable to produce anything at home.
Yes we agree you are very patriotic and never went to India, but you are also celever because you know you would never be given a major role. Those who have gone like fawad khan ends up playing gay or minor side roles. Then Ali zafar and imran abbas also wasted years and years.
Pakistan certainly lacks infrastructure, lacks actors lacks technology and now even people to write or direct such epics.but that does not mean we should restort to watch women weeping and talaq and cousins marriage show again and again to prove our patriotism.
No sir.
This would urge our directors and young producers to produce the same or achieve same quality.
We would be the first one to watch them.

he is right .

The industry should start attracting new story writers with fresh interesting stories. Not always about kings and empires, but about the lives of everyday people or sitcoms that people can relate to. Waris was a big hit back in the day, and is an example of a show that was considered must see tv.

Shooting low to medium budget pilots with great stories, if these new shows are shown on TV and Youtube on a weekly basis, audience feedback and interest can be assessed and financial backing can be found to support developing the pilot into a full fledged series.

A visibly patriotic (per his self portrayal in the movie “The Big Sick”) person the industry could approach is Kumail Nanjiani. He has gained success in Hollywood, both in Tv and in movies, and could help consult (or network with people in Hollywood) our industry in getting on an even keel, producing decent films. After which it will be the story writers which will Make or break our films and tv shows.
