Gandhi aap ko gurr day kar marna chahta tha, he wanted to conquer your hearts and minds through soft power and later establish majority's tyranny through democracy--- that's pretty much the only difference b/w the two.
His killing was a blessing in disguise for us.

It was "secular" Nehru of Congress whose machinations led to the Indian occupation of Kashmir in which Gandhi supported him. They were shrewd and knew how to don the cloak of secularism over their majoritarian ambitions. Jinnah saw through their facade.

Gandhi's views about the blacks of South Africa were not much different from KKK's views about blacks of America.

Congress never truly accepted Pakistan and were looking for ways to undo partition through tactics like blocking our waters, funds, weapons and were looking for an opportunity to take revenge for thousand year Muslim rule as Indra said. But, many people, sadly in Pakistan as well, believe Gandhi to be the "apostle of truth". There were strong reasons why Jinnah R.A created Pakistan despite Gandhi and Congress' opposition.
