This is one of the first F-16 Fighting Falcons that was delivered to the PAF in early 1980s.
While after 35 years of service, most aircraft will be obsolete or nearing their service life, the F-16, however, with it's capacity to induct comprehensive upgrades, has remained a front runner in the modern aerial combat, a fact it again proved decisively during recent air clash with the Indian Air Force.

Proud to announce, I was project director for JF-17 Thunder program jointly produced by Pakistan and China during the tenure of General Pervez Musharraf,” retired PAF Air Marshall Shahid Latif said in a statement on social media today.

“Today, same jets targeted and shot down Indian Jets which entered Pakistani Airspace,” he added.

That was a due to mix up in communications, indeed no F-16s were used in the offensive roles which was carried out by the Mirage and JF-17s while the F-16s were patrolling deep inside own territory, hence the reason for their BVR kills.

The A5s are still parked , not sure if they are usable for rainy days.

F-6s are well retired now however some A-5s have been mothballed as they still retain capability of a certain strike role....should the need arises.

Thank you, and we all know what the need would be used for " Nukes "

F-16 is a legend and under PAF's hands, it became King of the Legends

we have to admit US tech is far superior and reliable then chinese, russian and european tech. an air craft that first flew in late 70s is still a killer for the relatively newer russian jets.

Then there were folks that were calling the PAF to sell off these great war-birds, both here and the pakdef.org forum.
