Bangladesh used to make beautiful dramas back in 90's but now Bangladeshis watch Indian Hindi and Bengali serials 24/7. Indian TV giant Zee TV now took initiatives with mobile operator Airtel to bring Bangladeshi contents to global audiences. I think its a great initiative. Indians and Bangladeshis are same people, same culture, same food, same clothing. So it would not be difficult for Zee TV to bring Bangladeshi contents right on track. Hopefully they will be successful to give fresh contents to us.

At a grand joint press conference with Robi Axiata Limited held in Dhaka yesterday, ZEE5, the largest global streaming platform for South Asians and beyond, announced its plans to take Bangladeshi entertainment content to global audiences, said a press release.

Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global shared the platform’s vision of establishing a deep partnership with Bangladesh by working closely with local talent and local production houses and giving them a global platform. The announcement came at the formal launch of the service for Robi and Airtel subscribers in Bangladesh.

ZEE5 shared that it will be launching six projects in Bangla over the next one year. For these projects, it will work with some leading artistes from the local entertainment industry. Besides, it will also organize a talent hunt programme for fresh new faces who will get a chance to work in these shows. This talent hunt will be rolled out in association with Robi Axiata Limited. Details of the talent hunt programme will be shared in due course.

Commenting on the announcement, Amit Goenka, CEO, ZEE International and Z5 Global said “As we move forward with our global expansion and deepen our presence in key markets, establishing meaningful conversations in these markets will be key. We’re very pleased to be here in Bangladesh to formally announce our partnership with Robi-Airtel and share the various plans we have for this very important market.”

Also present at the occasion were Moinul Hasan Nobel, the Bangladeshi heartthrob singer from ZEE Bangla’s show, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, and Ushasi Ray, the actress who plays the title role in the popular drama serial, ‘Bokul Katha’. Among Bangladeshi celebrities, prominent actor Chanchal Chowdhury, popular ramp model and actress Airin Sultana and television presenter-model and actress Masuma Rahman Nabila were also present at the launch programme.

What types of treatment u expect from the border guards towards the smugglers and human traffickers?

Not saying there aren't any incident where innocent lives haven't been lost but they r few and far between.

It's the responsibility of the Bangladeshi citizens not to cross the no man's land. They r called no man's land for a reason.

Go to India through a proper channel by using authentic documentats and nothing will happen to u.

Millions of bd people go to India every year for treatment as well as shopping purposes. They don't get shot cuz they aren't smuglers.

Same is true for Pakistan where we were good in making TV dramas, than came Zee TV and even Pakistani content is now some what Zee TV style which really suck. I am not going to use Indian Style coz in 90s Dordershan dramas were pretty fun to watch like Bunyad, dekh bhai dekh. Zee has really destroyed that drama in South Asia. Now its married man having an affairs with another woman. His wife screwed by his best friend etc etc etc.

I am kind of ashamed actually to find your Bangladeshi patients in India converse with us in fluent Hindi, something that i can't inspite of me being an Indian. I guess, being culturally similar to India and the immense popularity of our Hindi content in BD contributes to it.

Bangladeshis are Indic people. So Hindi is easy for us to converse with little practice. Almost 90% Bangladeshis can understand 80 to 90% of Hindi. Now, you will see Sylheti members will come and give weird theories of how 'Bangladeshis' are so different from Indians. Don't listen to them. Ignore them. These people want division among people.

Indians and Bangladeshis are same people. Period.

why Bangladesh need some foreign channels to promote them? see Pakistan if you make good entertainment every one will die to watch them. despite indian govt ban on Pakistani entertainment Pakistani content is still very popular among indians.

We, Bangladeshis are obsessed with Indian entertainment. We copy Indian films, Indian serials but with much lesser quality. This is hard to digest for some Bangladeshis but they don't make any effort to change the Bangladeshi sh^^ty contents.

:p:

Even to change our film and TV industry we need Indian collaboration because we don't have much talents in entertainment industry. Very bad condition.

There is serious lack of talent in Bangladeshi media. Just look this garbage. Everything is copied from Indian media.

Lmao, wtf!! :cheesy::rofl: Those are gold dust, shared it on WA amongst my family and friends circle and we had a hearty laugh.

This is why you need to have your own cultural icons; your art, literature and entertainment have been pretty much overshadowed by the giants of West Bengal and Bollywood. Bangladesh tried very hard to forge a new identity for themselves, unfortunately owing to the rich history and culture of WB and India, that will remain elusive for the foreseeable future.

We have so much in common than differences. Never felt different towards bangaldeshis and they are growing tremendously. I studied with many bangladeshi in my university. Amazing friends with them.

Becoz ZEE is one of the largest networks in the world ? and has a very very high production quality, funding, talent and experience ? And i respect every countries industry, but honestly, i dont know anyone who watches pakistani content, not in a bad way but we have so much indian content , we hardly can and even i dislike indian soaps nowadays, they over dramatise these days. But the variety you find is unlike anywhere.

Thats propaganda nothing else, ask any student who comes here for study, they will tell you. There are just evil uneducated people who do these mob lynchings and police is taking care, a new law is being prepared tackle this. Dont paint the whole country with the same brush.

In what language did you converse with them? While in India they seem eager to speak to us in Hindi but otherwise act as if they don't know a word of it! Also, saw you mention that you are friends with lots of Tibetans too, are you from NE or Himachal/Uttarakhand?
