DAVOS – Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman has said that sustainable partnership models need to be operationalized under the public private partnership to achieve societal and industrial benefits.

Speaking at round-table on e-commerce in Davos on the sidelines of World Economic Forum (WEF) on Thursday, she said in Pakistan, development of SMEs is directly linked with the development of cross border e-commerce.

She said Pakistan is launching a Made in Pakistan portal where 50,000 artisans will be brought online.

The minister of state stressed that lot of corrective measures are needed, so that global south is not treated merely as a pool of customers but given equal opportunities to offer their goods in global markets.

She said, “the availability of digital platforms has eased service delivery and e education, e learning, e health, and e agriculture are some of the avenues where industry can actively work with governments.”

Minister of State for IT and Telecom highlighted the initiatives undertaken by Pakistan through its Universal Service Fund to spread the ICT services across the length and breadth of the country.

Anusha further highlighted that our programmes are targeted at provisioning ICT services, training to women and girls to reap benefits of economic opportunities.

If I were to ask how to make a nice pualo or Biryani.... I would have consulted anusha Rehman.
Yeh she is the minister for science and technology.
Now match her against the world and just imagine how much behind we are. Even her qualifications are not in this field.
She is the type of anty who ask kids to teach them to text or take photos.
Well, unable to bring PayPal or Amazon or eBay, she claims big achievement.
Yes her biggest achievement till date is removal of khatam e nabowat clause...
But of course this didn't matter to Pakistanis.
Pakistanis are all words and no play....
Everyone would claim they would die for khatam e nabowat but then eat qeema wala nan (ghada meat) and vote for pmln....

Good news. We should focus on manufacturing and services.

will anyone elaborate it for the gullible like me.

Its payment settlement portal where a third party settle the transaction of online payments (including ATMs) between seller and buyer's bank ...

No thats not reality, the actual reason of establishing a local clearing house online clearing portal is to safe money on local payments ...

For example in my company I have to pay 1.6% charges for every ATM transaction out of which 1.5% is transferred to Visa or Master card just to provide a connection ... by setting up a local settlement house we can reduce this business cost sharply and that too will remain within in Pakistan ...

Similarly, for online portal, we are using 2checkout charging us heavily even for transactions within Pakistan ... through an online portal for local payments we can reduce cost of doing business as well as increase of jobs within Pakistan ...
