Thunder on LOC Patrol

And people here were telling us that SD-10 is not operational.
I have already proven them wrong earlier with proof.

if LOC regular Air Patrols start, then it means things are really heating up.

:offpost: Thunder looking for Teja, but Teja no where to be found..
Never under estimate your enemy. Tejas is not the only A/C in IAF, they have Su30, Mig, M2K, Jaguars and in much larger number and after 2-3 years the deliveries of Rafale will start. Not trying to scare but providing a reality check.

I was trolling on the basis of their big hype of Tejas are operational and superior, our thunder is all over but Teja nowhere to be seen to tackle Thunder. MIA

Even they themselves know Tejas is over and that's why IAF is desperately looking for other platforms. Most of their serious posters don't even defend it on PDF at least. However PAF has a long way to go in achieving a total air dominance in Pakistani skies. We need quality platform and weapons in sufficient numbers. Our capabilities are mostly defensive as of now. JF17 can't do deep strikes into the enemy territory, we have handful of F-16 with spares to last for 5-10 years but in case of war, inventory of spares can be depleted much faster, mirage-IIIs are past their max life, then we have some F-7pg...We are in dire need of a modern and dependable platform and we don't see any program for that. All hopes are being pinned in the project Azm but very little info available and it will take a long time...looks like a "truck ki batti"

Efficient and deadly. Doing what it was meant to do when it was conceived, just a simple and undeniable proof of its success.

Whatever upgrades from here on are bound to make it even more of a potent platform and at par with and even beyond some of the AA capabilities of F16. If only the dual seater was there from start, PAF would have had a few more customers in its pocket by now and paid for future blocks from the proceeds.

It's carrying four anti air missile , what would it need the pod for ?

Dear that's carried during ground strike missions.

A targeting pod with IR capability is suitable for A2A missions also. It has capability to guide missiles to a target, especially when radar is switched off.

Both WMD-7 and ASELSAN pod have IR capability and search/track ability.

No targeting pod?

Continuing from above explanation, maybe JF-17 was instructed to keep its radar ON at all times, that's why a pod for an A2A mission wasn't considered a necessity.
