Hey, no worries. If the U.S. does leave Afghanistan, India will get involved in a much bigger way. Won't have boots on the ground (not many, in any case) but our friends the NA chaps won't be short of either funds or ammunition for a very long time. Pakistanis who have pipe dreams of repeating the 90's need to factor that India today is in a economic position of keeping your western border on the boil for as long as she wants. Between the Russians, the Iranians & ourselves & without the west to stop us, you are really going to get your wish for more Indian involvement & how!

Continue signing those agreements with the mayor of Kabul , they wont even be worth the paper they are written on once we decide to boil ... Pakistanis having massive experience in Afghan affairs know how to deal with the developing situation on ground , that is why USA keeps asking for opening routes and begs for Pakistani help to negotiate ... We will see who had pipe dreams when the times comes ...

India must send soldiers to Afghanistan's eastern regions specially Kandahar, Kabul-Jalalabad and north eastern area like Faizabad. But that should not be under NATO but only under UN. It should be done to protect key areas and strategic locations of our interests. A stable Afghanistan is in our interest, for doing business with mineral rich central asia. Also Indian troops can open large scale training centres in Afghanistan.
