not only that -- but whose paying their salaries, whose paying for the mags and the ammo that goes in 'em

I see that with other lens, coming one by one to a single tirah valley and finally roasted at the end by the hands of Taliban ;)

you mean the terrorist rats who your government and its allies are sending......don't worry buddy, there'll be a massive "mopping" coming quite soon.

better alert your refugee family in Peshawar about your travel arrangements

Pakistan armed forces need to support ANA against taliban

A common enemy of both

I agree, and the PA will do that as soon as the Afghans learn to accept the Durand line and stop shooting at our border posts.

I dont think Americans would pull out all of its troops. They would most probably station few thousand troops in the north and it is highly possible that they would continue carry out drone attacks and even strikes. They have spent billions of dollars on ANSF, they wont leave them on their own.
Taliban with their decade long battle experience against super power and with their ideological commitment would easily overcome ANA.....you and other pakistanis should'nt be happy at the fall of ANA , as Pakistan would be their next target.

Ok , I will make it clear .

It hardly matters if US pulls out all its troops and leaves a couple thousand behind for safety , seeing how much progress the coalition and particularly America has made in a decade , only delusional people can attach any hope with a " token " presence . Of course , they will station in the North , because only a certain faction seems to support the US role in Afghanistan . Actually , they spent more on Afghan war in whole than what they spent on ANA , investments carry a risk . All these doubtful reports of ANA being ready to take control look nothing but a hoax , because the same people had criticized them just a couple of weeks ago for poor discipline and low levels of training . I do not exactly know how did they mend their ways in that brief period of time .

We have to battle one either way somewhere in North West , so even if the Taliban win , it would be the same as today and the seventh largest army in the world can deal with that just like now . But it seems , that things will turn ugly for Afghan people more than anyone else regardless of who emerges out as victor there .

Right on the money !

Thats great news buddy, but I seriously think ANA should increase its size as well as some section as well.they needs tanks, armoured cars,IFVs,serious air support(those A-50 light attack crafts are good start, but you guys need more),as well as better recon and seraching capability.Taliban will try to punch hard ANA to capture Afghanistan with foreign support(situation will be just like Syria).you guys need those capability so that you guys atleast could prevail them,if not to defeat them.but I see lack on those sectors,as well as lack on behalf of USA and Nato as well.they has huge amount of extra armoured cars and other spares which they will not carry out after withdrawal in 2014,then why don't they just handover to them and make ANA strong??and also, where is ANA's MBT??do they have them??They need to buy some hardware right on,as they'll need them seriously when they will take over.

The size is okay they stand at 200,000 along with other 240,000 various troops; for fighting militancy NATO and allies would never give us tanks but work on upgrade and repair of former t-55 and t-62 has started most of them are untouched and numbers more than 800, they are also repairing BTRs, BRDMs, BMPS, SCUDs, LUNAs, Frog-7s etc.. they have now more than 200 D-30 artillery with a refurbishment facility which is newly established which will significantly increase the numbers of D-30 in stock. ANSF has nearly 10,000 new armored humvees, 170+ new M113 armored personal carriers, 500 M1117 APCs.

Afghan air force will have by the end of next year a fleet of 20 light attack and surveillance A-29 aircraft, 60+ Mi17v5, 15+ Mi-35/24s, 20 C27 spartan, 4 C-130, 18 PC-12, 26 Cessna 208, 3 L-39 jet trainer, 6 Cessna 182, 60 MD 500 trainer helis...

Negotiations are going with US/NATO to allow us purchasing jet aircraft probably the Russian ones + air defense equipments + facilities + radars etc..

thats right...Russia jets will suit you better than jets from USA/Nato countries,as its cheap yet not less capable in any field.I think jets like Mig-35 will better for ANAF's doctrine as they needs relatively small border areas to cover, but they have an capable opponent against them.also,as I've suggested, they needs MBTs,also,Russian one as you are suggesting that NATO/USA will not provide you MBT's to fight against Taliban.but I've seen videos of T-72's performance in Syria and I can definitely say, those MBTs have saved life of countless soldiers.they used MBTs against heavily fortified positions of syrian rebels.though using of MBT generally increases the civilian casualty, but I think ANA would've find a better use of them as taliban uses IED to target soldiers.Tanks would have used on those areas with impunity.also,ANA needs better Mine/IED swapping tems that would swap vulnarable areas everyday, even sometimes 2-3 times each day(just like Indian soldiers do in Kashmir)..a lot to do on your part.

What's with the hate on Pakistan?

But Afghanis love to live in Pakistan.

must be the Pakistan's help for Afghan Taliban is behind this..don't blame them, they suffered for 2 decades due to Pakistan's "Management policy of Strategic Backyard"..and god knows how many will die due to this..

is that the issue bothering you??you must have to know the first rule:Afghanistan is for Afghan,Pakistan has nothing to do with it.you help them to defeat Russians with the help of American, thats a fine thing.but that doesn't make you controller of the fate of Afghanistan..Pakistan forgot this very first lesson.

and FYI,Afghanistan has a long history in which they saw Czarist regime and British Regime fought over Afghanistan.same goes for Pakistan.some thinks that Pakistan only started to train the muzahidins after SU came in Af.thats wrong.the insurgency in Af that was the root cause of Soviet deployment was infact was a covert ops done by ISI which was authorized by Bhutto(in which they helped and trained Jamiat-e-Islami)..no denying the fact that reform policies of Af was the cause of the revolt, but even before the revolt,Pakistan played their dirty game.

And how come Pakistan is controlling Afghanistan?Because same taliba that you say Pakistan use to control afghanistan is hitting Pakistan very badly. Fail logics of indians ad too much conspiracy theories that ISI done this and that. Go kiddo read proper history of soviet deployment and resistance history of Afghanistan. We were the country who hosted 3-4 million afghans.

Which reminds me what reason you people give when someone asks you why you supported Mukti Bahini in 71?

you think anyone really buys into your bluffing

“We should be lucid: a country that depends almost entirely on the international community for the salaries of its soldiers and policemen, for most of its investments and partly on it for its current civil expenditure, cannot be really independent.”

did you see we are controlling Bangladeshis??the first thing India did was withdrew its troops.what about you??who trained Taliban??who kept sending them??who destroyed other muzahideen factions and captured Afghanistan and ruled them for several years and pushed them into dark age??do you even know when Taliban was mobilized??there was no Soviets then..Pakistan just got a chance and utilized it by using Taliban to capture the Afghanistan.even a simple source would clarify it.

Taliban - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and if Taliban is hitting Pakistan badly, don't you think you should get rid of them??12 years the Afghan war is going on,and the only reason it'll not end and might even turn it into another civil war is the support pakistan giving to keep alive the taliban and they will use them to overthrow the Afghan govt again.don't play your "Victim Card" here..everybody knows about Pakistan's double game.

you think anyone really buys into your bluffing

don't know what you meant by using the word "Bluffing",but Afghanistan has around 2 lakh personnel and they really have some of those hardwares while they are buying others..even if it was bought over international funding.

The afghan army cannot be sustained without the CIA distributing brief cases full of cash or NATO countries digging deeper into their pockets
None of which is possible as the EU is in financial crisis and there is no support for putting tax payers money into Afghanistan same is the case United States
India is worried about Afghanistan while China is penetrating deep inside, sitting 50 KM inside Indian Territory as we speak

Shitttttyyyy logics once again. After the withdrawal of Soviets and before the emergence of Taliban what was the condition of Afghanistan? And how pakistan capture it genius? Did Taliban pay heed to Pakistan every request? Did Taliban gave free hand to Pakistan to operate? Did Taliban hand over Osama bin laden to Pakistan?

And most moronic thing ever heard. Pakistan giving support to Taliban. Was America able to eliminate Taliban in 12 years, Was America able to secure whole Afghanistan border? Are americans making deals with Afghanistan? Didn't Foreign countries paid taliban warloads money on regular basis so they would not attack their conveys?

Did you know the dynamics of North waziristan? The geography? If we hit them they would run across the border ad would find sanctuaries there and start attacking us again. Did America co-operated with us when we ask them to seal to borders?

Pakistan Economy is in shyte, N.Waziristan is a hilly terrain which needs Heliborne operations, Ground forces would take a serious pounding if they just move through ground and collateral damage would be high.

Wake up Indian, Tired of hearing your double games logic when you don't know the fukcing geography and other factors of launching a successful operation there.

And I'm fail to understand, when American themselves say they are negotiating with Talibans, they themselve says they can not secure the whole Af-Pak Border then how the hell does it mean Pakistan is supporting Taliban?

Fail logics.
