ISLAMABAD: A hitherto unheard of pro-Taliban group called 'Ansar Wa Mohajir' has claimed responsibility for Wednesday's car bomb attack in
Lahore, for which four alleged Indian nationals have reportedly been arrested by Pakistani authorities. ( Watch )

A man identifying himself as Toofan Wazir, the commander and spokesman of the group, phoned The News daily from somewhere in North Waziristan to claim responsibility for the blast in Lahore and earlier rocket attacks on Dera Ismail Khan city.

Wazir threatened more attacks against security forces and government installations to avenge two recent US missile strikes in North Waziristan in which several militants from Punjab province were killed.

The report said it appeared "obvious that he (Wazir) and his men are pro-Taliban and part of the Pakistani Taliban".

Media reports have said that hours after Wednesday's car bomb attack, intelligence and security agencies in Lahore arrested an alleged Indian national identified as either Satish Anand Shukla or Satish Anand Sharma.

The man, who purportedly worked in the Indian High Commission in London, belonged to Kolkata, the reports said.

Geo News channel subsequently reported that intelligence agencies had yesterday arrested three more alleged Indian nationals on the basis of information provided by the first man who was nabbed. A camera and a pistol were reportedly found in their possession.

Police officials in Lahore have not confirmed the arrest of the alleged Indian nationals and there has been no official word on the matter. The Indian High Commission here has also not been informed about these arrests by Pakistani authorities

Meanwhile, Ansar Wa Mohajir spokesman Wazir said US drones fired missiles at Pakistani targets with the agreement and cooperation of the government of Pakistan. Revenge will be taken by striking at both the Americans and the Pakistan government, he said.

In Pakistan, suicide bombings will be carried out and bombs will be exploded at important government installations, he warned.

Wazir claimed his men were "Ansar" (fighters) who hosted "Mohajir" or refugees from different countries and people from places in Pakistan who came to find refuge in Waziristan. He said the group is committed to protect foreigners, who are guests of the local tribesmen.

However, there was a discrepancy in Wazir's account of the attack in Lahore. He claimed it was a suicide bombing targeting a government installation. Police have said the blast was caused by explosives hidden in a truck.

Asim i really dont know what does that name mean but the same news also reported on CNN.

Not safe to be in Pakistan: India tells its citizens
26 Dec 2008, 1929 hrs IST, PTI

NEW DELHI: India on Friday advised its nationals to avoid travelling or being in Pakistan, fearing their persecution in the wake of media reports there that some Indians have been accused of terror attacks and arrested.

The external affairs ministry said while Pakistani media has claimed arrest of several Indian nationals in Lahore and Multan over the last two days, the police have expressed ignorance, indicating that it could be the handiwork of agencies which operate outside the civilian control in that country.

The statement by external affairs ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash came after media reports in Pakistan claimed that Indian nationals Satish Anand Shukla, Ram Kumar, Ram Chandar and Prakash were arrested for a bomb blast in Lahore two days back.

"There have been reports in the Pakistani media that several Indian nationals have been arrested over the last two days in Lahore and Multan and are being accused of being terrorists," he said.

"Since it has also been reported in the Pakistani media yesterday that the senior police officer in Lahore was unaware of the arrest in his city, it seems that this is the work of other agencies in Pakistan that operate outside the law and civilian control," Prakash said.

"Indian citizens are, therefore, advised that it would be unsafe for them to travel or be in Pakistan," Prakash said.

First of all not several but 4 Indians are arrested in connection with spying.

Above all only one was arrested on who's information the remaining three were later arrested.

If as reported by Indian media saying these Indian spies were arrested by Intellegence agency then for sure the agencies know more about Indian spies police can not be that efficiant.

The story about claiming responsibility by an antirely new fake organization for Lahore blast is nothing more than a bluff to show India might not be involved after Indians are arrested in conenction with it.

Calling from an unknown place to a newspaper is not something new Especially India is more familiar with such kind of practices making up fake stories and such calls for taking responsibilities to divert attention.
Presence of Indian agents in FATA due to free hand India is having in Afghanistan is also known to all.

If it is true that a Pro-Taliban group is behind these attacks, eradicate these bastards, destroy them, everything they possess, own or love, simply destroy it and wipe it off the face of the earth.
These groups have caused enough unrest, death and destruction among peace loving Pakistani people.
If it's an Indian group, which i'm more likely to believe, then prepare for surgical strikes inside India and take out Indian terrorcamps, sounds fair right. ;)

These are most probably Indians conducting counter-counter intel moves to cover their tracks from being uncovered any further.

The Pro-Taliban group is also called RAW
Right on.

Pakistan has been saying this for a long time now, that the RAW is funding certain Taliban elements especially the ones in charge of TTP.

One can really not feel sorry for incidents such as Mumbai after we know they are out there bombing us anyway. We really need to bomb Indian consulates in Afghanistan.

I think u have already done that, the blast at the Indian consulate in Kabul.

However a month after that GoI decided to put in more money into Afghanistan like the construction of the Afghan Parliament.

They appear to be counter-productive,these attacks on Indian assets in Afghanistan.
