NO sanctions Please join

Indeed there's a strong a influence since Israel is an ally of US but that doesn't mean you can call it "Jewish lobby".

Instead of acting like a superpower, Iran should accept the reality and step back from this mentality.

By acting like a superpower, you mean opposing U.S policies right? They are targeting people of Iran and the whole nuclear program excuse is just a lie. The whole point of sanctions were to reach a deal with Iran and to solve the issue diplomatically, and now that Iran is ready for negotiation (it has been actually for years) they are targetting people more and more. They have gone as low as causing problem in the way of exporting medicine to Iran. They don't want to prevent Iran from reaching nukes (which is the biggest lie here), they want to paralyze Iran as a country and weaken it so it can't stand against their hegemony in ME.
Unfortunately mainstram media has been quite powerful to brainwash naive people regarding the 'Big Iran Threat' and to justify their inhuman sanctions on Iran.

Iran as a country and weaken it so it can't stand against their hegemony

I prefer U.S. hegemony over Arab hegemony, as Saudis always like to remind Iranians, why be more Arab than Arabs themselves? Let them deal with Israel themselves? As far as I'm concerned Israel could have anywhere between Nile to Euphrates, neither Nile nor Euphrates is ours to fight for, let the Arabs deal with them.

I'm sorry but I couldn't care less. Iran is more important than anything else to me. Remember the country comes first! And its not in our interest to **** with superpowers.

Oh Please! Stop this nonsense. Jewish conspiracies are really annoying now.

The effort to dismiss Iran's elections as unimportant—despite millions of Iranians' willingness to come out and vote for Rowhani—and forge ahead with sanctions stem largely from efforts backed by the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). The latest sanctions bill, the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act , which passed the House 400 to 20 last night, would impose the as yet toughest measures to date, just days before Rowhani's inauguration.

AIPAC POLICY CONFERENCE 2013

LOBBYING AGENDA

On Tuesday, March 5, AIPAC delegates went to Capitol Hill to meet with their members of Congress about key legislation and initiatives AIPAC is supporting. Here is a summary of their agenda:

1. House: Nuclear Iran Prevention Act (H.R. 850)

AIPAC delegates urged House members to co-sponsor the Nuclear Iran Prevention Act of 2013 (H.R. 850). The measure — co-authored by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) and Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY) — would strengthen enforcement of current U.S. sanctions on Iran, expand sanctions targeting Iran’s human rights violations, and, for the first time, specifically authorize the president to impose sanctions on any entity that maintains significant commercial ties to Iran. (See list of current cosponsors below.)

2. Senate: Resolution Backing Israel against Iran (S. Res. 65)

AIPAC delegates urged senators to co-sponsor a resolution (S. Res. 65) — led by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Robert Menendez (D-NJ) — declaring that prevention of an Iranian nuclear weapon remains American policy and that the United States will stand by Israel should the Jewish state feel compelled to take military action in its own defense against Iran. (See list of current cosponsors below.)

3. House & Senate: U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Act (H.R. 938 & S. 462)

AIPAC delegates urged House and Senate members to co-sponsor the U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Act of 2013 (H.R. 938 and S. 462). The legislation — authored by Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and Ted Deutch (D-FL) in the House and by Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Roy Blunt (R-MO) in the Senate — would enhance cooperation between the United States and Israel and designate the Jewish state a “major strategic partner." (See list of current cosponsors below.)

4. House & Senate: U.S. Security Assistance to Israel

AIPAC delegates urged House and Senate members to support the full $3.1 billion in security assistance the United States committed to Israel for fiscal years 2013 and 2014, as well as the $211 million in additional funding for the Iron Dome missile defense system. Delegates also urged support for a robust overall foreign aid budget to ensure America’s continued leadership in the world.

Agenda

The problem is that these are not UN Sanctions, these are unilateral sanctions.

If the US and the EU want to unilaterally impose sanctions on Iran, there is not much anyone can do. If they don't want to do business with you, they won't do business with you.

On the other hand, there are plenty of nations willing to work around these sanctions.

Yes, the world should unite and work for immediate regime change in Iran rather than punish its people through sanctions.

Perhaps the West and Russia can coordinate a two-front invasion of Iran? Worked perfectly well in WWII.

Online Travel Sites Block Flights to Iran as Sanctions Increase

Washington, DC – A number of online travel agencies have discontinued booking flights to or from Iran, citing broad sanctions restrictions against the country. Searching for a flight to Iran on Orbitz’s site, for example, retrieves the error message: “Flights to/from Iran aren’t supported by Orbitz. Sorry! Please choose another location.”

The National Iranian American Council has contacted the top executives at each of the seven companies – Orbitz, Priceline, Expedia, Tripadvisor, Cheaptickets, Hotwire, and Kayak – to clarify that U.S. sanctions on Iran do not prohibit the advertisement or sale of airfare and to urge the companies to resume allowing users to book flights to and from Iran. NIAC has offered to assist the companies as they attempt to rectify their error.

In a response to NIAC, one of the companies explained in a letter that the company does not offer travel sales related to Iran due to complications created by sanctions. "Based on the compliance requirements and our status as a publicly-traded company, we believe that it is the best solution for our company and our obligations to our shareholders," wrote the Vice President for Corporate Affairs for Orbitz Worldwide, adding that the company "look forward to a day when these restrictions are eliminated."

The U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which is the government agency responsible for administering and enforcing U.S. sanctions, has made clear that “transactions incident to travel to and from any country,” as well as “arrangement or facilities of such travel,” are authorized under U.S. law. However, similar to the difficulty in facilitating medicine sales and other services technically exempted from sanctions, the chilling effect of broad sanctions have convinced some travel websites to opt out of any dealings involving Iran. According to Sanction Law, an online resource and blog about U.S. sanctions,“the refusal of these sites to book travel to and from Iran despite the exemptions contained within the regulations is indicative of how U.S. sanctions on Iran can have myriad unintended consequences.”

The spread of such practices is particularly problematic for Iranian Americans, given that the current U.S.-Iran relationship already makes arranging travel to and from Iran a lengthy and often difficult process. Hundreds of thousands of Iranian Americans visit Iran each year, according to polling data, and have faced increasing obstacles in facilitating such travel as sanctions escalate.

Too close to Abadan! :coffee:

Aren’t they supposed to wait till god gives that land to them, if god gave them that land they should not do any effort to regain it!

Perhaps you want your jewish state to be destroyed in a while?think about few thousands of missiles?

"Defending Israel is not just a Jewish cause, an Israeli cause or Western cause but a humane cause."

Good luck with your theory . Tell your Mr Osama Obama do that today .

"Defending Israel is not just a Jewish cause......" :omghaha:

He is right, Israel was created to serve the purpose of Christians(west), they are taking their revenge with out crusades through Israel. In plain words, Israel was a puppet in the west and a military base of USA to sub due Middle east.
Jews never opposed Muslims in the entire human history and they are tolerant to both Christians and Muslims. Jews were driven out of Europe and are made to fight Muslims.

Leave that retard alone, he still thinks we are in the 30's and 40's where they can bully countries. He is in for a nasty surprise.

We wouldn't give a damn if they didn't want to trade with us, the problem is, they punish the countries who want to have business with us.That's what we call bullying.

No matter what happens to Iran in the middle, the only regime who will be removed is in Israel. And you don't want that, do you? Because in such a scenario, defending Israel is not only a Jewish cause, it's also an inhumane cause.
