This is not an MPDR 90. This is MPDR 45.

I have been corrected by none other than one of the pilots present at the base.

''This is not giraffe radar, this is MPDR-90 hooked up to with the digital automated air defence network of Pakistan''!!

@PanzerKiel

The pilot is an idiot. This is a MPDR-45, originally. Maybe the upgrade version has more range, but this is NOT an MPDR-90

m not expert, but whats the point of more range radar @ skrardu base, thrz mountains everwhere,, upgraded more range need on top of Mountain

On the inner pylons of the wings. As a rule of thumb, the more the weight of an object, the closer it should be to the support structures (in this case, where the wings meet the aerofoil). This leads to lesser bending moments and hence increased structural endurance.

Being one of the main JF-17 player, i wouldn't say he is an idiot.....he described them similar with one for low level detection while the other with height finding capability.

Planted misinformation. These guys always do it. You think you are getting some good info and after a while you realize it’s all bullshit.

Yeah, again, as one of our AD officer who operates it states, almost all radars with us are MPDRs, MPDR is basically a technology...... Multiple pulses transmitted and received working on doppler effect..... which is used by several radar brands.

... That's why I didn't correct you before.
Mate the MPDR with CRC (control & Reporting Centre) while it operates through SILLACS (Siemens Low Level Air Control System) providing detection, data processing as well as secure communications, you have a non-gap coverage along the border with India, with one CRC controlling 8 MPDRs of different types thus different ranges. Link CRC to different command HQ's for timely tactical action. Where as on other hand, AN/TPS series look many a miles inside Indian territory.

North theater is getting more attention and then the preparedness in time in view of adversary's ambitions and moves. Those BVRs & WVRs and then especially Thunders; one can get it easily as how a surprise being conveyed. They can place them in Ambala or Laddkah but they know deep down inside as, there is no return once they tried to enter.
Ahem ahem....somebody got frozen and stoned at Leh AFB at this development, say about a 100 km aerial distance between Skardu AFB and Leh AFB.
