Except If u use some better paid VPN service like Astrill VPN/Air VPN..etc I'm using one of them & see no bad effects in surfing/downloading speed except p2p. There r also some good freeware available. VPN speed depends on it's encryption level, if u use a low level encryption VPN then ur net speed won't affect. Plus YT is a good education site if u look it in other view
