If 16 Sqn is being equipped with Block 3s, where will 16 Sqn's previous Block 1s go?

I think the 'munition' of interest for the JF-17 Block-3 (and J-10CE) will be a loyal wingman UCAV. We should closely watch the systems China starts pitching for export. We could potentially see the Dragon Duo (J-10/JF-17) leverage something in the 1-2-ton MTOW category by 2030 IMHO.

Yep. It's for the AESA Antenna array. It has just over 1000 t/r modules.

Going by the serials, PAF may very well soon enough have more AESA equipped fighters than IAF.

Hence AESA gap. Unless IAF starts upgrading the MKIs and induct Tejas MK1A in a large number all they’ve got are the 36 Rafales,
which won’t cut it.
