Battle of Longewala - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The battle of Longewala saw heavy Pakistani losses and low Indian losses. Since the Indians were able to use the defenders advantage, they managed to inflict heavy losses on the Pakistanis. Indian casualties in the battle were 2 soldiers. In addition, one Indian jeep mounted Recoilless rifle was knocked out. Pakistani losses were 200 soldiers killed. The Pakistanis also suffered the loss of 22 tanks destroyed or abandoned, and lost 100 additional vehicles, including APC's.

What about MM Alam and his laser eye sight which shot down 50 Indian fighters in 1 second flat ?

Another fanboi story ?;)

sacrificing yourself for the honour and security of your holy motherland can never be seen as futile or "pointless"

and that wasnt just any tank battle; it was the largest tank battle fought since world war II and quite possibly one of the largest the world has ever seen

True that. This battle actually followed Battle of Phillora (also one of the largest tank battles), where Pakistani 6th armored division's incursion into India was thwarted and the PA was forced to make a tactical retreat into Chawinda. It was here that Pakistani army stood their ground and stopped Indian advance.

At Chawinda everything worked in favor of PA. It was their defensive position and they made good use of it, even though PA was outnumbered 1:10 by IA. Once settled in, PA troops were also quickly helped by reinforcements from Kashmir, and their famous 1st armored division came to the rescue. 1965 Indo-Pak war ended here.

If I am not wrong, it was from this battle that the (in)-famous "1Pakistani = 10 Indians" slogan came into being.

Google MM Alam.

If the Battle of Longewala which was well documented by both sides can be discarded as Fanboi myth, many such things can be said on the Pak side too.

Actual figure is 5 Indian fighters in one minute- you distorted it to make your point- thats lame-

Equally lame was your post in denying Battle of Longewala as a bedtime story while even MM Alam's alleged record was de-bunked by many , the most credible one from Air Commodore Sajjad 'Nosy' Haider and his gun camera footage has still not been made public inspite of the controversies.
