India not even close to where China was 5 years ago: Chinese daily

no point comparing apple and oranges

Unfortunately, It would take a great effort for China to even realize what they have lost as they ventured into the long march

The True Sound of Truth
An old story speaks about a similar problem. A devoted meditator, after years concentrating on a particular mantra, had attained enough insight to begin teaching. The student's humility was far from perfect, but the teachers at the monastery were not worried.
A few years of successful teaching left the meditator with no thoughts about learning from anyone; but upon hearing about a famous hermit living nearby, the opportunity was too exciting to be passed up.
The hermit lived alone on an island at the middle of a lake, so the meditator hired a man with a boat to row across to the island. The meditator was very respectful of the old hermit. As they shared some tea made with herbs the meditator asked him about his spiritual practice. The old man said he had no spiritual practice, except for a mantra which he repeated all the time to himself. The meditator was pleased: the hermit was using the same mantra he used himself -- but when the hermit spoke the mantra aloud, the meditator was horrified!
"What's wrong?" asked the hermit.
"I don't know what to say. I'm afraid you've wasted your whole life! You are pronouncing the mantra incorrectly!"
"Oh, Dear! That is terrible. How should I say it?"
The meditator gave the correct pronunciation, and the old hermit was very grateful, asking to be left alone so he could get started right away. On the way back across the lake the meditator, now confirmed as an accomplished teacher, was pondering the sad fate of the hermit.
"It's so fortunate that I came along. At least he will have a little time to practice correctly before he dies." Just then, the meditator noticed that the boatman was looking quite shocked, and turned to see the hermit standing respectfully on the water, next to the boat.
"Excuse me, please. I hate to bother you, but I've forgotten the correct pronunciation again. Would you please repeat it for me?"
"You obviously don't need it," stammered the meditator; but the old man persisted in his polite request until the meditator relented and told him again the way he thought the mantra should be pronounced.
The old hermit was saying the mantra very carefully, slowly, over and over, as he walked across the surface of the water back to the island.

India went up to mars dear and how about china ........paper dragon

I didn't know that little satellite could work like that "little blue pill" for some many Indians for so long. Every other thread in this forum, someone is going to bring this up again and again. Don't you have anything else to server the same purpose, like you live longer, you eat better, your kids scores higher, you get more medals in any international competition?

Speaking of paper dragon, thousands of brave soldiers from a superpower wanna be surrendered to the "paper dragon" in one small battle, which made you like what, paper cow?

"More than five years" is just being polite. 50 years is being candid. India is a big poor joke for Chinese.

When you are trained in reeducation camps and resources of free media is banned, you often think this. Your president Mr Xi took pride in Indian mission to mars. He does not think like you.

Will India ever be able to have its own telecom infrastructure provider such as China's ZTE、Huawei and Datang?

Asustek has chosen Tianma's panels due to low pricing

China-based Tianma Optoelectronics is expected to become the main panel supplier for newly released notebooks from Asustek Computer.

The panel maker supplies Asustek with panels used in smartphones and has now been chosen for notebook panel supply due to its low pricing. Notebook vendors such as Asustek, Microsoft and Sony continue to be concerned over costs and are further considering China panel makers.

Tianma also continues to receive tablet panel orders from Sony for the vendor's large-size tablet lineup and expects orders to remain steady into 2016.

Panel supply chain sources meanwhile said they expect price wars to continue into 2016.

The core lies with economic reforms with capiatlistic outlook, China started its economic reforms way back in 1970. backed with quasi autocracy-oligarchy single party rule. Getting new laws can almost be at whim of the communist party, not much scrutiny about land laws or environmental laws, implemented strict population control.
.
India on the other hand started economic reforms only in 1991 when socialism bankrupted us. backed with an sleeping "thik hai" government for a decade, and chaos for 3-4 years in the middle where we had more prime ministers than baby changes diapers so yes a toe curlingly slow form of messy developing democracy. Mind you India is not mature democracy yet, feudal mindset is still prevalent in a considerable strata of the society.

By any means if we are even 10-15 years behind its good enough, I consider India to be at-least 20 years behind China.

But I am willing to follow a democratic USA set up that has been built over two centuries than The Chinese model that is 45+ years old and yes Democracy is messy, it is slow, but its a lot better than so many other forms of government (personal opinion nothing against china or any other country).

I am a proponent of India going by its own pace, and not getting lost on the BS comparison being held on everyday basis. If the average Indian is doing tad bit better today than yesterday. India is doing good.

India believe that it's GPS correction satellite make its own GPS more advance than that of US. Therefore, it's space agency will surpass NASA in 10 years. With that kind of mentality, of course Indians believe it's far ahead of China as no Chinese would dare to claim that China will surpass NASA in 10 years. By this measurement of how much you dare to claim, India is way ahead ofChina in space exploration.

Fake news?

First there is no such thing called "state-run Chinese Daily", period.
Neither can I find any links on that. If anyone can help find the original first-hand article (no second hand info from tabloid, blog), post it, thanks in advance.
Until then I doubt the existence of such an article in any mainstream or state-run press inside China.

The sentences in bold are almost de facto standard response from Indian members in defending India's lag behind China in social and economical development. I respectfully disagree. I am afraid, 15 years from now, India will not be where China is today by a long shot. The reason I have explained in post 18 and post 20.

Please note, there is a link in Post 20 to a long article written by then LA Times reporter 18 years ago. It is an interesting read, as it gives you an idea how some scholars, including Indian scholars, thought about our two countries 18 years ago, just like we are trying to figure out what we will be 15-20 from now. It is a soul searching reflection, but it may help you and others to think deeper than the standard rhetoric.

Warning: the article is not for any RSS type of guy with inflated ego and a faint heart.

You have highlighted an important point and that is the mentality of Indians
is very backward. Why people kill over religion is beyond me - it strikes me as
very odd that you would kill after literally being brainwashed by parents since birth.

Its not just Indians, infact it is the problem of whole South Asia. People get killed due to their eating habits, somewhere due to expressing their feelings on blog and somewhere because of belonging from a minority sect.

And their is only one solution for this problem : E (education), E (employment), E (economic development).

Maybe we did not think it is important for us for now, or maybe we don't really need that "little blue pill" to boost our national impotency? Maybe we have more important things to do in the space, like mining on the moon? Or maybe we just did not care that much?

ya, we did try, but a Russian rocket failed us, so we just put it afterburner. What did you get from your little satellite? Some snapshot of Mars? Congratulations!
No we get the confidence that china is very very far behind from us.
