Japanese weapons are usually not very well known due to their ban on exports. Though they make some fine defense stuff.

People who can make top notch vehicles and electronics can easily make top notch defense stuff. I think the only sector where the Japanese are not fully self sufficient is in the aeronautics.

I know that. The reason why I said their weapons are not well known is not because they don't know how to make them but because they don't export, market, advertise it to the international market unlike Boeing, Raytheon, IAI, Rafael etc.
