IAF MiG-27 crash in West Bengal

Hi
RIP to the dead.
Why not spend 35 million dollars and get some Mig 29s quickly? Because they are not ground attack, damm we need fighters that don't crash out of age, just buy some mig29s or second hand mirage 2000s , because Tejas for 3 years will not be able to replace the older Fishbeds, forget the Bisons. And Rafales are just 36 till now. And then you have jaguars who have been falling down.
Sad and frustrated
Thanks

Good excuse for incompetence, I hope you never stop "affording" another one, you know. Let's drink to another new possible induction in IAF, btw what happened to mother of all defence deals affordability

yes , pilot ejected safely . We can afford another one you know :D

Still these people have no humanity, he's happy that pilot survived but no concern for the dead civilians.
windjammer saab, u know indian airforce is short of pilots by 600 officers, since pilots and officers are important for the nation's security......poor civilian lives are nothing compared to pilots life(this is the government version)
If the plane had crashed in Delhi by any chance, close to some ministers house or something like that would had happened , immediately the whole squadron would had been grounded till now.....but still life of one fighter pilot is costlier than life of poor civilians, it takes around 7-10 crores to make a fighter pilot(the cost includes training, simulation hours, flying hours, experience flying different aircraft, fuel, maintenance etc), this is just for one pilot....and RIP to dead people, and also air force will compensate for the lives lost.

I am sure the pilots did their best to avoid damage to lives on the ground, but sometimes it is not possible, especially if you are at low altitude. Mig27 being single engine, doesn't help. Loss of the only engine means you might lose hydraulics/electrical power as well. Would need detailed report of what happened.

Agreed. Also considering that it was a night sortie.

And who the hell are you to measure that ? You know the what the epitome of incompetency is ? 68 years, and you cannot even design your own moped engine.

Don't tell me that no PAF jet ever crashed or nobody ever died in crashes. Not one day ago, military aviation in your country perfectly managed to crash one helicopter, killing two pilots, two diplomats from other countries, injuring wives of two others among many and landed over a school.
Keep the crocodile's tears to yourself, you are going to need it.

Not before 2022

Only the MiG-21 Bisons will continue to 2022, the MiG-27s and MiG-21 (non-Bisons) will be gone by 2019/20- the process has already begun a few years back.

With every passing day the case for the Rafale is being made ever stronger and the DM/PM are surely listening.

One by one, the Indian MIG's will all find their place on the ground.
