What's new

From India with love

It is becoming a trend in the west for many people to marry as per Indian traditions.

I don't appreciate swearing. But you will laugh to glory after watching this.

Foreigners don't understand India is a heavily populated country & it needs a lot of patience & practice to get used to driving here. If you drive every day here, It takes at-least a year to get used to the traffic & to become a normal driver & several years to be a driving expert. So what may look dangerous to you, is something normal & not so dangerous to a driver who knows how to drive in Indian roads.

Many foreigners are not going to live here, worst they take it as an adventure & many end up having nightmares & horrible experience. They start swearing Indians for not having driving sense & etiquette.

You need special desi skills to drive in India. Your skills & expertise of the west is absolutely useless here in India. People here don't have time to wait & follow your type of rules & discipline. It's almost impossible practically. Yes Accidents are also common. But with such huge population of people & vehicles, it's just one of our several daily plate of challenges, which we counter unlike west. Life goes on. Life is a struggle & a challenge here. It's not for the soft & faint hearted.

Foreigners label our driving ridiculous & insane, after they take on the wheels without understanding their style & skills of driving doesn't apply here in this country. My sincere advice to foreigners kindly don't impulsively take on the steering, just for the sake of adventure, you will end up cursing & sending your Blood pressure up above your head piercing the skull to explode. Let the Indian drive. They wont have the same panic & fit as you.

Look at how calm these drivers are. For us this is a daily affair, the foreigners don't understand.

These foreigners will get heart attack if they sit in the front seat of buses especially in Kerala. Even locals very old people are advised not to sit in the front seat near driver, since it's too much for a young person's heart itself to handle. Kerala drivers drive Buses like small car.

Why do these drivers drive like insane people? Not because they want to put other people's life at risk.

All these drivers have incentive & commission on the collection for the day & no. of trips they make. More the trips, more the collection - more their take home. So there is stiff competition every day between bus operators. If you don't have a good driver, you will not earn much & over time will lead to bail out as you can't keep up with competition.

The irony is even commuters see the bus operator or driver & if it is slow they don't take the bus. So if you are a driver who want to be a decent person, respect etiquette follow lanes, rules, discipline & don't want to put other people's lives at risk, it's great, only thing, nobody will give you a a job. Same applies with all drivers. Be it professional or corporate. Nobody has time.

It's not easy to change this system overnight.

Here few Whites appreciating Indian Drivers amazing driving skills

Definitely very bad & nasty accidents happen every day in India. No doubt India has the highest accidents in the world. In-spite of excellent driving skills of most Indian drivers, still somebody's fate is written on their particular day. You have to be little careful with Truck drivers on highways. Definitely many accidents happen due to somebody's negligence like drunk & drive or also youngsters just getting too carried away.

These people need to be stopped & given proper hidings once in a while, so they don't put others life in danger due to their unacceptable recklessness. But same thing you will see time & again & life goes on.

Foreigners who are adventure freak & hero's back home, come here with the ego, Ah! give me any road, I can drive, it's a piece of cake. Their ego is put to real test here in India & they crack, when they counter reality

When you see or hear of India. It's dirty, populated, noisy, polluted, chaotic, poverty, monkeys, stray dogs, cows & many other negative things. Well some people even given title of Rape capital, without knowing the statistics. This is a joke. Being a well traveled person across the country, I can confidently say, India is one of the safest place in the world, unless you are really stupid & give a scope for things.

Another thing foreigners hate about India is, we go to most foreign countries & start doing better than them. Indians go with nothing & with in a decade, they are well off with all the comforts like own house, best car, bright children, fame & many go on to start their own business. This makes the locals very jealous & angry about Indians.

Real India is not what many people think it's or media depicts. Many come with a totally negative picture of India. Many come just because they are accompanying a friend or someone forced them to join. But once they visit India, something about this country grips their mind, don't know what & why, they just fall in love & want to come back.

It's a nice feeling when people love our culture, when people say, this is the best & one of the kind travel or experience I ever had in my entire life. Makes us feel proud. This is what makes us give our love. We welcome who ever comes, how ever they come, what ever they do. That is probably what foreigners like in us.
