Egypt will buy China 071 dock landing ship

I think there is no official verdict from Egypt. But I still think Egypt will be going after EU LPDs and may be some LSTs too.

The article is originally from a blog, so I think it is questionable.
I do not mean it is impossible, but if Saudi wants to buy type 071 for Egypt, why only Saudi Navy Chief has come but not with a single Egyptian officer accompanying.
Well, this visiting takes 3 days, and the Naval commander of Saudi had taken a look at type 071 LPD, type 04 amphibious armored vehicle, type 054A and type 22 missile boat, so it is reasonable to think that Saudi wants to buy something, but for Egypt? I don't think so.

so this website is not credible enough ? , i am not experienced in Chinese websites

Damn..Looks like Egypt is rising again..Mummy returns 5.

Seriously,2 Mistrals and now this.Do they really need such "Expeditionary Capability"??

Any more of these and Israel will get jumpy.

This will strengthen Egypte as much as it will burden it economically. The maintenance of these naval ships are through the roof. Combine this with the 2 Mistral-Class LHD the Egyptian navy will receive, it will most definitly become a hurdle in the relative thight budget of the armed forces.

I can foresee some problems such as
- Egypte either will increase its defence budget(it must on the long run) which is not that very smart considering their stagnated economy.

- They dont have the neccesary escort warships for a battle group. Egyptian navy would need 2/3 seperate battle groups all need assigned with defensive warhips. Egypte doesnt have that currently, meaning that it will most likely try to acquire some. This in turn will raise maintenance costs and overal expenditure whilst still having a stagnating economy.

- The warships need neccesary equiptment such as LST, helicopters, land vehicles for beach landing and such. This would also need to be purchased alongside the several dosens needed for the mistrall class LHD's.

Completely agree.

I hope we can live through an economic recovery as soon as possible.

The missile travelled about 11 second before impact. If you would have put out a 360 scan, you would have pick up the threat 2 to 3 seconds after launch (You can't quite miss a missile with flame coming out of the back coming toward you)

That give the tank crew 5 to 8 second to dodge.......I don't know about Abrams, but you can easily dodge that in a Bradley...

Let's ask @Davos he is a Abrams gunner

G'day Mate

In any situation that require a tank to stop, if the tank is occupied, this would require both the loader and commander to turn out, and maintain a 360 degrees perimeter. Like in the picture below.

Had the tank not occupied, the crew have to either camouflage the tank by putting scrim netting on top or park under hard structure. If a camouflage or cover cannot be achieve, then the commander should select a spot that is less lightly to be ambushed (e.g have a good visibility) and to send out patrol around the holding area.

The tank in question looks like unoccupied/abandoned where the tank was not in a watch (no crew on deck) nor was it in a supported position (single tank). Had the tank was manned, the driver would drive forward or backward and fire the smoke grenade at the same time to mask the heat signature. Had watch been established, the crew would most definitely have time to react to the attack. However, from the video, it seems to me this is just like target practices with the tank set against a RPG intended to hit that tank.

Egypt will buy LPD for sure but not from China, I think it would again be EU. Also, I think there are many Abraham in reserves which Egypt will going to buy it.
