Connecticut School District on Lockdown Following Shooting Report

^^^ Talking to you is worst than talking to a donkey, at least donkeys don't resort to personal insult. Use your brain, if you have any, David Gregory invited 31 Senators and none show up. What it has to do with the other 69 that he didn't invite?
The one who is a dumbass here is YOU. The question is about debate or as Ethan Zuckerman of CNN falsely put it: silence.

Is Meet The Press is the only TV debating platform in the US? It is funny how Zuckerman of CNN, a major news organization with many debating platforms of its own, was whining about the 'silence' about gun control issue. If none of the 31 gun rights Senators refused to show, what prevented David Gregory from opining on his own about gun control? He did not invite the other 69? Why not? Whose failure is that? The NRA? Let me guess, you genuinely believe the NRA prevented David Gregory from inviting any other US Senators who are for gun control.

Go and debate a donkey. That is all your intelligence is capable of doing. You will win every time.

If USA can't ban Guns so what they should do as USA Cities have really planned development so what they need to do is have a Police Check post near every Schools where 3 Police Man whose mental health is checked on regular bases should be deployed with CCTV cameras put in Schools and also in Universities so nothing of this sought can happen again

LOL you're absolutely right! How stupid I'm 'debating' a donkey who rants nonsensically.

There are loads of terrorists holed up in the US and we will sure hear more of the same in years to come.

The US government should immediately recall the GIs who have been killing thousands of innocent people overseas, send them back home and wage an anti-terrorism war in its backyard.

I am very sad to hear the loss of children and other people. To me it looks like a clear case of collateral damage. The killer was there to kill the principal and others and children were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. RIP!

To me it looks like a clear case of collateral damage.

That's an interesting perspective. As far as this being considered "collateral damage" I haven't heard the media here discuss such prospects.

That's because they were white children not brown like us or Afghani.

Didn't the Chinese always say to the US "DO NOT MIND or GET INVOLVE WITH OTHER POLITICAL BUSINESS"??

Why Chinese member now concern American Internal Business all of the sudden??

We (Americans) vote on the gun-control issue. Not the chinese, guns control in America is an American internal issue, thanks for caring about our politic, now please piss off.

This kind of self contradiction is usual with the Chinese members here.

RIP to the dead. They were innocent, brave and deserved better in life.

These mass shooting are getting out of control, more needs to be done to reverse the disgusting trend. We have witness over ten American 'angry man' mass shootings, just this year alone:

February 26, 2012—Multiple gunmen began firing into a nightclub crown in Jackson, Tennessee, killing one person and injuring 20 others.

April 6, 2012—Two men went on a deadly shooting spree in Tulsa, Oklahoma, shooting black men at random in an apparently racially motivated attack. Three men died and two were wounded.

May 29, 2012—A man in Seattle, Washington, opened fire in a coffee shop and killed five people and then himself.

July 9, 2012—At a soccer tournament in Wilmington, Delaware, three people were killed, including a 16-year-old player and the event organizer, when multiple gunmen began firing shots, apparently targeting the organizer.

July 20, 2012—James Holmes enters a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises and opens fire with a semi-automatic weapon; twelve people are killed and fifty-eight are wounded.

August 5, 2012—A white supremacist and former Army veteran shot six people to death inside a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before killing himself.

August 14, 2012—Three people were killed at Texas A&M University when a 35-year-old man went on a shooting rampage; one of the dead was a police officer.

September 27, 2012—A 36-year-old man who had just been laid off from Accent Signage Systems in Minneapolis, Minnesota, entered his former workplace and shot five people to death, and wounded three others before killing himself.

October 21, 2012—45-year-old Radcliffe Frankin Haughton shot three women to death, including his wife, Zina Haughton, and injured four others at a spa in Brookfield, Wisconsin, before killing himself.

December 11, 2012—A 22-year-old began shooting at random at a mall near Portland, Oregon, killing two people and then himself.

December 14, 2012—One man, and possibly more, murders a reported twenty-six people at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, including twenty children, before killing himself.

RIP to the dead. They were innocent, brave and deserved better in life.

Is 2012 the year of the gun? No rise in mass killings, but their impact is huge | The Dickinson Press | Dickinson, North Dakota
And yet those who study mass shootings say they are not becoming more common.

“There is no pattern, there is no increase,” says criminologist James Allen Fox of Boston's Northeastern University, who has been studying the subject since the 1980s, spurred by a rash of mass shootings in post offices.

The random mass shootings that get the most media attention are the rarest, Fox says. Most people who die of bullet wounds knew the identity of their killer.

Society moves on, he says, because of our ability to distance ourselves from the horror of the day, and because people believe that these tragedies are “one of the unfortunate prices we pay for our freedoms.”

Grant Duwe, a criminologist with the Minnesota Department of Corrections who has written a history of mass murders in America, said that while mass shootings rose between the 1960s and the 1990s, they actually dropped in the 2000s. And mass killings actually reached their peak in 1929, according to his data. He estimates that there were 32 in the 1980s, 42 in the 1990s and 26 in the first decade of the century.

Chances of being killed in a mass shooting, he says, are probably no greater than being struck by lightning.

“Rampage violence seems to lead to repeated cycles of anguish, investigation, recrimination, and heated debate, with little real progress in prevention,” wrote John Harris, clinical assistant professor of medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona, in the June issue of American Journal of Public Health. “These types of events can lead to despair about their inevitability and unpredictability.”

“We do just seem to slog along, from one tragedy to the next,” Tom Mauser said last July, after the Aurora shootings.

“It's like a cancer in our society,” she says. “And if we keep doing nothing to stop it, it's only going to spread.”

I hope victims and families get adequate counseling to help them through difficult times. Help setting their minds straight again coupled with good gun control will assist with the break up of this angry man cycle.

There comes a time when enough is enough. The general America public can see for themselves:

First of all, you do not know what guns mean to American, unless you lived in America for a very long time. You cannot even get a degree of preception on what guns mean to american.

General American sees guns as a tool. In the same category with knifes.

Guns is a rights of America, it's not some "given" to us by the government, but rather it's the right to buy guns in America, it's not even the law, it's a civil right. I am certainly sure gun even exist in one or more slained children's family.

People do not blame gun on these tregady, the blame the people who committed such an act. Some will even agrue if there are gun presented with the teaching staff, the tragedy can be reverted, so much to the course we armed out communted flight captain with pistol and part of a Pilot Course in America is firearm handling.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
People should mind their own business, even the victim family does not speak of the Gun Control, I dont think non-American should comment on Gun Culture in United States.

And since when Mass Killing in United States become World Affairs? Mod should justy close this threead or people know nothing will just troll around this thread as troll fest without even knowing anything about Guns and United States

A case of 'one who often criticizes hates to be criticized'. The second Amendment is dated and is in desperate need of revising. Only the republican yahoos supports the notion that only guns will make you safe. At this rate you will only be safe if you go out with a military grade assault rifle. Leaving them at home simply won't do.

Save your excuses for the victim's friends and families. Even your government thinks it's time to put a stop to the heinous gun abuse.
