Caste System Discrimination Documentary in India today (Warning:Disgusting)

how about reservations based on economic status of people? low or high any castes can enjoy the benefits depending on their economic status.

That is already in existence. Although not with a lot of enthusiasm.

Members of the scheduled caste tends to get sidelined when applying for jobs or privileges despite their economic status. The primary reason for introducing reservation was to combat the ill-effects of social prejudice towards lower castes.

Interestingly, the major opposition to retracting reservations are posed by scheduled caste members themselves.

what a sick and vulgar culture.

i really hope sikhs and tamils can get their independence and enjoy their freedom.

the caste system is worse than what the nazis did.
its a pure evil system.

Let the truth be told to you, Sikhs have nothing to do with Hindu Caste system and Tamils are just another Hindus and follow the same system and Tamils were seeking independence from Sri lanka not India.

By even taking a cursory look at your post, one can easily figure out how much grasp you have on the topic..

Btw, there are couple of Tamils on this very thread. Just wait and see what you get in response from them..

Well, the Tamil DMK party was founded to enable a transition into an independent Tamil nation. But this was eventually dropped permanently in the backdrop of '62 war ( Chinese aggression ).

In way we have to thank the Chinese for their contribution to sustaining our national integrity. '62 war proved to be a very effective catalyst in establishing the Indian identity.

But poor don't make a tribe or group, do they?

This what Hinduism says about caste system...

|| Janmana Jayate Shudrah || || Samskarad Dvija Ucyate || || Vedapathi Bhaved Viprah || || Brahma Janati Brahmanah ||

Which means.......

|| By Birth every Person is Sudhra (Lowest cast in Hinduism) ||

||By Having knowledge subconscious mind through Experience he becomes one of the members of the first three class (thats Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas) ||

||By studying the Vedas one becomes a Vipra (meaning a Sage) ||

||One who knows Brahman ( meaning - universal Spirit that is the origin and support of the phenomenal universe) is a Brahmana||

But a low born man can't have second birth, can he?

Yes but it was hijacked by the ones in power by associating it with birth, and hence problem.3 things i've noticed
1] Old generation tend to be more rigid regarding castes than the youth
2]much more prevelant in U.P,haryana..........
3] intercaste marriages are common nowdays except with sc's.No body wants to marry their kids to sc's.

Krishna was born in Vrishi Clan & Brought up in Yadu clan both r Vaisya Class ... But Became a Kshatriya ruled a Kingdom ...

Vishvamitra was born as King Kaushika a Kshatriya ... became a Brahman ... & also was one Saints of the Holy Saptrishi ( seven most important Saints of Hinduism )

Karna was born in a Sudha Clan ... Become a Kshatriya & Ruled Anga kingdom ...

Ekalavya was born in Sudhra caste ... then Became a Kshatriya & ruled a Kingdom...

Parashuram was Born as a Brahman But later became a Kshatriya ...

There 1000's of such people in Puranas ...

And when Indians think we have a shot at being a superpower? I think we have a lot ot prove before we even go down that path. Caste is a scourge. The rest of India should follow Kerala

The state has always been a very intriguing case for everyone studying Indian history.

Their achievement requires even greater praise considering--the state was among the most racist and discriminatory at one point of time.

To switch from one extreme to another requires extraordinary effort. Especially when it comes to challenging ancient social perceptions and prejudice.

My Cousin wants to Marry a Vaishya Girl ( Ezhava Community ) even the girl Loves him ... we r Kshatriya (Nair Community) by caste ... even our Family accepts the Marriage & Like the Girl ... My Cousin is 6.1 feet tall , Fair & Looks Handsome too , has a Good Job in UAE...

But the Girls family is against the marriage they wanna marry her in her Community ...

Every Community has its own respect ... in some cases the Sudhra & Vaishya Caste r more prouder then the Brahmin caste & Kashtriya caste ...

i have seen a number of cases like that ... in olden days every caste high or low had there own respect ... no one was considered low ...

We are already free in India....and Punjab and Tamil Nadu being two of the richest states in India, we have a certain clout with the central govt as well --

And I as a proud Tamil, do hope the Uighurs, Huis and all the assorted minorities do get their independence from the oppressive and repressive Hans.

.

That is so not true -- Jinnah tried to convince Periyar to demand a separate Dravidastan...but that proposal never found favor with the people...

Though we Tamils were never ruled by foreign invaders or even native kings from North India, until the British came, we were always inhabitants of this Bharat varsh and there was no reason why we should have demanded a spearate country..

That is so not true --

It is, actually. It was primarily a party of secessionists.

They were also one of the main opponents to the 15 year deadline ( as agreed while framing the constitution ) of making Hindi the official language of communication.

Caste system in India is very simple:

It was based on the profession that people engaged in.

Temple priests were Brahmins - alternate profession was teaching and preaching.
Warriors were Kshatriya's, maratha's etc.
Landlords were the Jagidhar's - owned lands and properties.
The Dalits / Harijans were Masons, cleaners, general labor class.

In present India everything is merged, not many can distinguish each other now unless someone says they are of a certain caste or their surnames. Rural India still follows this caste system and restricts people from intermingling. It is a slow process and as awareness builds and people start accepting everyone as fellow human beings and Indians this system - which is already illegal and controlled on a personal level will disappear in due time.

And the racist scum on this thread talking of dark skin and such should know that this is due to our weather in the sub continent and their yellow @sses will turn brown as well and they will lose their yellowness if they live here for a couple of generations.
