Buddha Civilization in Swat Valley Pakistan

Every time we have a thread like this indians have to come and mess it up with stuff no one cares about.

I hope mods take proper action and clean up this thread.

In this case I totally agree. The discussion just isn't going in any proper direction. Everything that happens to lie in Pakistan the Indians claim. Its sad that despite 60 years of our existence they haven't managed to come to terms that we exist and have inherited some of the things that might once have belonged to the Hindus and Buddhists just as they have come to inherit the Taj Mahal.

This was a discussion to point out the Buddhist heritage within Pakistan, overall we should have been giving ideas about how to benefit from this heritage, preserve them, possibly bring in Buddhist tourists to Pakistan. But we aren't being allowed to do that just because some Indian trolls are still stuck 1000 years ago. Bhai a lot has changed in 1000 years, move on. You can't have naked men and women now, people are moving from villages to cities, Islam is a reality, these are all things that have changed. Pakistanis are willing to accept that Hindu culture existed once in our lands but Indians are keen to prove that Islamic culture never existed in theirs.

Indian friends, please find another place to enjoy yourselves. This is a place for history enthusiasts and researchers into history. I would have liked to point out locations of interest in Swat and Lower Dir where there are Buddhist ruins or artifacts but look at the Indians. Keen to discuss something that will gain them nothing.

i'm not confused, it is you and your peoples who r confused, they think india existed b4 1947, lolz b4 1947 there was british india, and b4 british there was no "india" but different empires, kingdoms, Nizams, Sultanates, etc, there was no india, but there was a Subcontinent that was later on named by the british as "indian" subcontinent, but b4 that there was no india.

Exactly each of those people had the same notion of India and aspired to be the Emperor of Bharatavarsha.

You guys are dumb. You can argue the same about all civilizations all through out the history.

There are always Kings and Emperors. Kings try to be emperors if they can. so all Kings agree on the fact that the piece of Land that they want to be the emperor of , is one entity. They keep fighting. is it that difficult to understand that?

Modern India is Union of India of the erstwhile elements of Indian Civilization, that had same Historical, civilisational, cultural continuity for about 5000 years.

so is india.

Really??......India is 60 years old??......India didn't exit before 1947??

Then how come the Europeans knew about a country named India and set sail to discover a trade rout....

Christopher Columbus named the native Americans as Red Indians as he thought he had reached India.......AND that was in 1492.
So you can imagine that India very much existed back then and was so rich and famous that Europeans risked their lives to find a trade route to India through dangerous seas.......

Some more Buddhist heritage in Pakistan:

The region of Swat which was recently besieged by the militants was a prime location where the Gandhara civilization dominated. There are even places in Saidu Sharif. I will keep posting more.

How Budhism declined in the region. Reposted.

This is how...........

Hundreds of years before the Muslims invaded India, Buddhism was formed out of Hinduism(Lord Buddha was the son of a Hindu king-Suddhodana) and if Hindus persecuted Buddhists(as some of you are suggesting) then it could not have spread so far and wide throughout India where Hinduism already prevailed.....from Buddha's birth place Lumbini(modern day Nepal) to Afghanistan(the presence of Buddha statues-destroyed by Talibans in Bamiyan-Afghanistan is the proof).

Main reason behind the decline of Buddhism is, Islamic onslaught........

Muslims killed thousands of Buddhists and Hindus when they first invaded India from the north-east.

They totally wiped out the Hindus and Buddhists in those areas (there is a mountain named HINDU KUSH in Afganistan- - - -acc. to Persian-English dictionary, A Practical Dictionary of the Persian Language, by J.A.Boyle, Luzac & Co., p.129, 1949) indicates that the word 'Kush' is derived from the verb Kushtar - to slaughter or carnage. Kush related to the verb Koshtan meaning to kill. In Urdu, the word Khud-kushi means act of killing oneself (khud - self, Kushi- act of killing). Hindu Kush means "slaughter of Hindus", referring to the genocide committed by Islamic invaders.)

They continued their invasion towards central India and in the process killings thousands of Buddhists and Hindus.
The Buddhists, being non-violent were completely wiped out from these areas......

The Hindu kings proved somewhat more resistant in eastern and southern India and they survived the Muslim onslaught, thus helping Buddhism from total extinction in eastern and southern regions of India, consequently from the eastern region, Buddhism spread to countries like china, japan etc and from southern India it spread to countries like Sri-lanka etc.

None of Pakistanis here are disputing anything that Indians post.

It seems all they want to say is this:

There are a lot of Indian heritage sites in a part of India that's today Pakistan. We don't want to spoil your Party.

Unlike you, Pakistanis lack the time and energy to troll as viciously as you.

anyways guys, ignore the trolls and continue to post Pakistan's Historical monuments and heritage. :pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:

Gulkada, Saidu Sharif

These are all locations that need to be protected. Particularly regions that have been attacked by the Taliban.

By the way a lot of the relics found in Butkada and Saidu Sharif have been leased to the Italians or Americans and are being kept in their museums. A common thing. The statues and things display naked women so Muslim Nations rarely keep them. A lot of the artifacts in Egypt can be found in European and American Museums on lease

I feel sorry for the Indians.
They haven't accepted Muslim culture as a part of their land. We have accepted Hindu and Buddhist heritage as a part of our country. This is why they are so confused. I mean you need to have a lot of time on your hands to take part in almost constant trolling.

.
There is no need to argue about which country thed heritage belongs to. It belongs to both India and Pakistan since the border between the two nations is only 60 years old. Modern nation states are a mainly European phenomenon coined by the likes of french philosophers such as Voltaire and Roussue.
