The JF-17 Block III expected updates
After the project of the JF-17 was followed as planned and the latest was the emergence of the JF-17B, the third phase of the JF-17 plan is Block III..
The Pakistanis have always been talking about their planning for this block as a radical change from the previous blocks..

They were saying:

There will be a thorough adjustment of the body

Fully new digital cabin

New Aviation Electronics

Addition of a new AESA radar

An IRST system

And a new helmet HMD \ S

I will be happy if the add few things and drop others ..
AESA , IRST and composite material can be go because it does not require much changes in Air frame .. neither does HOB's but it will be costly ..the price is important factor in JF program but every Good Fighter comes with a Price .

I think even if the cost goes up to $30+ million, it will still be worth it..The JF-17 block1 costed $15 million..

All the avionics that are in the Rafale....get them in china and put them in that damn jf-17

PAF has no choice but to make JF17 Blk 3 advance & hopefully it will be.

It's of J-31.
jf-17 uses MIL-1553B mux bus architecture which allows replacing of components. It has replaced several already during it's brief carrier. The point being that even block 2 can have these componentsbinsralled BUT not AESA as it requires more changes to cooling and space among other stuff.
However the new AVIC aesa is a great option for upgrades.

A wish list friends, until we really get formal specs, it is pointless bring up these wishlists.

When is the first JF17 Block 3 prototype expected to rollout ?

Block III only has a digital fly by electrical wire control system, upgraded avionics, AESA radar, probably a cheek mounted hardpoint for targeting pod and IFR. Nothing else is known so far.
