The way, we are receiving orders and especially the interest of KSA etc, it seems more feasible that money wouldn't be an issue in upcoming years for such huge upgrade. The doors are opening by the grace of ALLAH so let's hope for the best. Go team Pakistan.

The threads with proper source or details, are appreciated. Thanks.

I am the source. AESA is part of the reverse upgrade program. All Thunders will carry Block-III or better specs once Block-IIIs have been delivered. Installing an AESA radar into a JF-17 shouldn't take more than a few hours, it is a field strip operation. The avionics software can be upgraded too.

It's not source here, post other source.

On the wake of this good and heady news I think no one will grudge me a day dream or two ... like lets say we end up with some 250 Thunders and we also run our Viper fleet through the Özgür Viper program ... then we would be having a very potent fleet of around 325 AESA equipped fighters.

Ok, but when this reverse upgrade will start? And if KSA or any other ME country go for block-3 & "B" which engine and radar they may choose?

If you have been reading my posts earlier, you'd know that PAC did a technical analysis of powering thunders with EJ-200 engine for RSAF. The upgrade will start after the III's have been delivered.

If EJ-200 is coming for ME client, is it possible for PAF to get it too? It's totally gonna change JFT allowing powerful radar and avionics etc.
