You are a fckin idiot. Hindi is one of the only reason people from one part of India are able to communicate with people from other parts of India. Hindi is understood in whole or at least in part by at least 40-50% of the Indians. Just because you don't like the language doesn't mean we'll re invent the wheel and spend the next half decade teaching Tamil or any shitty language you like to the whole country. Don't like the order of things? Well pack your bags , get your passport and gtfo.

This kind of attitude is one of the reasons why people in South India are reluctant to learn Hindi.

We will accept hindi as an option, not as an order. If any one in tamil nadu is interested in hindi we are allowing them to learn already, but don't force those who aren't interested.

Rest of Indians- don't underestimate our integrity guys since we don't know hindi. If you know tamil, just check local tamil news sites like dinamalar, etc etc... what's the people reaction when there is an issue with china or pakistan..

Well - I didn't say that their integrity is doubtful, but every Indian should know and should be able communicate in national language not colonial language (English).

nope.. it should be left to the individuals..
I am with tamils on this.. although they can be ugly chauvinists themselves :p:

Its really hard for tamils to learn hindi... and it gives them nothing in return..

No one does that anymore.
That used to happen decades back when some Tamilians made it a point to tell everyone that they did not identify themselves as Indians.

The new generation of tamils (like the new generation of other Indians) is breaking free from the old paradigms and fixed notions.

Tamils have been pushed , , they have no choice but will fight Hindian hegemony . sample the "new generation " a foreigner asking native Tamil to gtfo from his country - Tamilnadu, why not Tamilnadu to gtfo from India ???

need to clear your misconceptions
1) Hindi is not the national langauge
2) the Indian constitution exempts Tamilnadu from HIndi imposition
3) India is a 60 yrs old country , Tamilnadu is a nation with a 50,000 yrs history
4) Hindi like English is a foreign language, which belong to Indo-European linguistic branch
5) Tamil is the native language of the sub - continent and one of the oldest language in the world
6) Both English and Hindi are colonial languages but English has a global reach
7) remember Bangladesh

I have two questions.
1. Are you a tamil?
2. If yes, do u think tamil nadu can survive as a country outside indian constitution? If you are not tamil,

Exactly. We Tamils realize that's impossible. In my 25 years of being in TN, I've never heard of one person I've interacted with even talk about separation. The only place hear crap like that is PDF :undecided:. Amusing how Pakistanis/foreign people claim to represent us and care about our well being.

One of colleagues once asked the same thing to my Tamillian friend and he was like ......what......when did this happen lol....
The ones who spread this rumour are mokka passangas
