Dr. Syed Ali Haider was often on TV, promoting health. He was a great teacher, the son of great teachers. He provided a lot of services for poor patients for free. He was the only properly trained vitreo-retinal specialist in Pakistan.

Ahhh..... its heart breaking to know how we lose our best brains to these abu jahil ki ulladd lashkar-e-jhangvi

The sad thing about this photograph is that the guest of honor is General Zia ul Haq (first row in chairs, near the middle), whose islamization policies laid the foundation for the present day mess in Pakistan, leading to the killing of Dr. Syed Ali Haider (who is the last row), and the building in the back is the Forensic Department, where his post-mortem was performed.

A lot of the people shown in the convocation photograph have already left. Many who are still there are starting to think about leaving too. Multiply this scenario hundreds of times over for other years and other institutions, and in many other professions, and one can see why brain drain due to the deteriorating law and order situation is a serious problem for Pakistan.

Yes I know, many in my own family have left, even some returned but when realized the situation,left...

the govt is not facilitating the fresh graduates, let alone professors, above that many have left to Saudia who are paying off very heavy amount of money...

without professors, our medical institutions would be doomed, the guys taking degrees in medicine from Russia,China etc countries are lowering the benchmark standard...

I wonder where are we heading, if this all not stopped?

What a tragedy. Professor Zafar Haider taught surgery to generations of doctors for three decades, and this is the return his nation gave him. How can we be so cruel and so powerless?

We cannot go back to 1948. Jinnah's Pakistan died with him, sadly.
