in that period of history there is no inida.it is called the Empire on which the sun never sets,or The Company of Merchants of London Trading into the East Indies

The concept of nation states came into being after treaty of Westphalia.so technically there was also no china historically.

Why don't you say what you want to say in an straight forward manner.India became independent nation state in 1947 but china was also a colony till 1943.No country in the world is more than 350 years old.

it seems you don't know the meaning of COLONY. only hongkong ,macau( more than 100 years) and taiwan(for decades ) and some small cities (for several years) of china had been acolonies in history .and china had never been fully colony.

I think the resources could be used to greater effect elsewhere. It is fine to prepare for any contingency but raising such a huge force at mammoth expense with one foe in mind is counter-intuative and a bit of a waste of resources.

Also it is giving mixed messages to the world and China. I suppose intention is to go with the velvet glove over an iron fist approach with China. But it just seems that the GoI is listening to those hawkish elements that are playing up the likelihood of an Indian-Chinese conflict.

The GoI has not forgotten how China is bullying its neighbours in SCS just by virtue of military superiority. It has been shown historically as well as analyzed by the China Study Group - GoI's advisor on all affairs related to China - that China does not hesitate to attack if it feels its military objectives are easily achievable.

So while it is indeed commendable that there is talk of peace and let us hope that this situation prevails, it is nothing but essential that we increment our logistics and military capability as China has augmented the same in the last 1 decade alone.
We are simply playing catchup. India is not initiating this, China has already done this - increment its troop carrying ability, created around a dozen military airbases in TAR. As such it becomes the duty of any responsible military and Govt of India to counterbalance this force accretion by China.

Pakistan is no more the threat it used to be. Even with existing force levels and structure, that threat is diminishing on a yearly basis, and we are more than prepared for any eventuality on the western theater.

Even the C-17's were acquired primarily keeping China in mind. That we would need absolute rapid airlift ability in case of a border skirmish with China, particularly as our road infrastructure is extremely weak and will take years to improve.

Back to 1960 both Mao and Nehru government was no matured enough to deal with each other. When PRC took Tibet all of a sudden and knocked Indians'door at the first time of the history, I knew Indian felt nervous cause you guys didn't know what the heck was CCP all about. What done is done. Although we get off on the wrong feet at the very beginning, but we still should not treat each other as hostile in the rest of our life. Grudge should be set aside and looking for commOn interest in the region and the world. I thinks most of Chinese and Indian prefer conciliatory relationship more than hostile one. We should seek a way of harmonious way as being neighbour. I can't image what will lead to when two giants swing fist at each other. Look what Europeans do, they live in peace nowadays.

This is simply a capability buildup in response to the capability built up by PLA in Tibet Autonomous Region from 2000 onwards. It does not imply that Govt of India wishes hostile relations with China. It just implies we wish to be ready and capable enough to fight if it comes to that level.

Probably you should read your (unbaised) history.

Concessions in China - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you bother to read yourself you would find that china was divided into spheres of influence by Britain,Japan,Russia and France.

And you yourself do not understand the concept of nation states else you won't have stuck up on colonies.Imperial dominions are not considered nation state and they did not have fixed boundaries also.China never in the history has resembled China of today.

you see? the pic you qouted is called SPERES OF INFLUENCE, which means foreigner have some commercial privileges.it proved again that china had never been a fully COLONY even during the worse period.it is much different from the situations of india, isn't it?

In that period there was no Communist ruled China...but it was a monarchy....so if India was created uniting the different kingdoms...it includes the North and South Indian dynasties...and then as I mentioned....then Afghanistan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka becomes Indian territory.

Good. India will do a new forward policy and China can finally unleash our nukes!

so if you guys really want to be friendly to us Indians then why are you still claiming Arunachal Pradesh as a part of your country?i mean China is a huge country with over 96,00,000sq. kms of land,so why the Govt. of China still claims A.P. as their land when the reality is that its a mountainous state with a sparse population and its been part of the British india and independent India for the last 100 years.so the best possible solution would be that China recognise A.P. as a part of India and in turn the Govt. of India recognise Akshai Chin as a part of China.Period!

India needs atleast 9 division at the Chinese border. IN needs secure the Malaca straits for future conflicts. Japan and India could assist each other in countering China,,

You just expressed his view of point. If we recognized AP as a part of India, then our textbook would be re-edited for our country was in less huge land scale 95,00,000 square kilometres and I don't think it is acceptable for many Chinese.
AP indeed a wonderful place,a few Chinese know that but others know little,so perhaps for this reason someone like Wanglaohan just claim for no claim for it without any hesitation.
India dosen’t want Aksai Chin so do us,we hold Aksai Chin not for itself or some transportation privilege through it,we aim for the westward land besides it.
