Pakistani Navy going through a serious buildup

Any chance of follow-up order of type 54A/P or PN will focus on Jinnah or some destroyers

I see the 054a as the low end solution for the PN. This is helped by the fact that its cheap and can be procured quick. I do forsee a further order if they can be had cheap, especially from ex PLAN stocks, theyre a good way to bulk up the fleet cheap, however, not really ideal for any form of HIC.

The IN ACC used against Pakistan in 1971 war was originally wanted by Pakistan as Quaid have asked PN Chief to get it from UK but after his demise all went down for Navy.
That's news, any links?

Finally some additions and improvements in PN- Long over due as it was the most neglected service but now it showns that Govt has finally realized how important Naval power is supposed to be.

Not exactly governments fault either, War on terror meant all of the navies acquisition budget was being given to army and Air Force to help them fight, navy wasn’t really involved in the fight. Now that is over and the money is available, plus with CPEC a strong navy is needed, so the navy is on a buying spree.

at the end of thisvideo the person referred to some under construction ships.
What has caught my attention is tankers MPV and multi purposes ships or something like that. can anyone shed some light on this.

I think it was reference to Turkish tanker that was delivered plus one more on cards also mvp order completed for pmsa and Turkish Ada based are already know , no clue the six additional heavier danish opv details are unknown.

I think the revamped security of our waters is due to CPEC becoming ready. I think Pakistan and China both want to ramp up Pak navy to be able to keep our waters safe and the cargo ships free from any attacks. It is a good proactive measure. We will need a strong navy considering USA/some middle eastern countries & India are not happy with this port and this new trade route. US tried hard to keep China at bay and keep South China sea contentious to limit Chinese economic potential. But now via Gwadar & CPEC China would have trade access to huge amounts of new markets, we are talking about access to 50% of the world! A ginormous market. Not only China, Russia as well as all other countries involved in this initiative will benefit from the huge volume of trade. Naturally, those who can't see others progress and think only they deserve monopoly over world resources will not be happy. It is natural that Pakistan would again be in the middle of all this geo-political drama. Good that we are preparing for it! Navy ramped up by 2030-2035, new air defence systems being acquired, new fighters jets being incorporated and by 2047 an all 5th gen air force to come InShaAllah! Good to see Pakistan military evolving and keeping up with modern warfare requirements!

"Low End" .... Chinese experts will strongly disagree with you calling these "Low End".

there will be J10C and nuclear submarine in future, J10C at the end of this year and nuclear subs by 2023. Nuke leased sub will be a big surprise, get ready for it 💋..

I dont see the point in acquisition of prestige equipment, what we need is basic stuff like armoured vehicles, tactical drones and CAS platform , true ISR capabilities at the section level instead of flashy bells and whistles frigates, subs and prestige aerial platforms. We MIGHT need these shiny toys in a future conventional war but we need these low level tools RIGHT NOW.

Dont know about the carrier, but there were efforts to get heavier ships and subs (before 1964 (ghazi)), in the '50s, but the british and the US both refused to provide them to avoid disturbing the "balance of power" between india and pakistan.

I'm not giving Ayub Khan as much flack because, at that time, Pakistan-US relations were really good.
not really. ayub khan was an idiot with no foresight whatsoever, wasnt he the one who used to call navy useless and and navy ships pregnant ducks? he was instrumental in sabotaging the navy. he was overly inspired by the ongoing debate in the western world about efficacy of battleships post-ww2, in an era of aircraft carriers. his limited mind could not comprehend the actual debate and applied it to the entire navy.
