TF-X Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

Would Hürjet be evolved to indigenous Harrier VTOL lightjet program which made from radar observed materials?
.....
I will always remember what you said. Thanks for enlighten me. Before writing you should read what people saying.

And you should think before you post! :hitwall::crazy:

Please try to find an example, where anywhere on earth any conventional aircraft has been developed into a VTOL fighter?

Simply forget it!

Constructer of TCG Anadolu maliciously prefered Harriers against dump and dumper.

Türkiye should produce Harrier under UK license as Türkiye produced Atak helis under İtalian license!!!

Can we stay on topic and no longer continue to discuss your fan-boy's wet-dreams?? It's embarrassing or in fact "dump and dumper".

To think TAI can develop a true fifth generation fighter alone from scratch is in the league of the Raptor is impossible. So far TAI has only assembled components are systems for others but developed they have nothing comparable of a jet trainer, let alone a stealth fighter.
Why not? F-22 was developed in the 90s and TF-X/MMU is being developed in the 2020s. And when it comes to experience; I agree on with you on some extent but we've been producing fighter jets since the 80s, we are developing a jet trainer/LCA currently with the first flight expected to be 2 years away. We've modernized many fighters and jet trainers extensively, we produced many parts for the F-35 and we are getting help from BAE Systems. And don't forget the fact that TA has been working on this plane since 2011. @cabatli_53 can give you more extensive information but If you've said that we don't have enough experienced engineers or time, I'd have agreed with you as I think the roll-out and the first flight will be around 2026.
My fear in fact is that after years of announcing ever mote and more and more more capable systems you will end up like India, with lots of fancy models
We won't. Of course all of our projects won't become succesful such as Altay tank or I-class frigates but we've developed many of the subsystems for major products from the ground. This leap we had on defence industry was planned ever since from the 1970s. For example many of the subsystems of TF-X such as the AESA Radar of Aselsan are almost ready.

Look, you're an expert on Chinese aviation but not on Turkish aviation. You don't know the behind works and you just have basic informations about it. Please don't think you are the wisest man alive and humiliate other members in here. Regards...

All fixed wing aircrafts that fly from TCG Anadolu will be unmanned. No need for manned aircrafts.

That is not true, with F-35B on TCG Anadolu Turkish Navy could... cover all it needs without being dependent on TuAF, reach many different conflicts which are not in range of TuAF (Somalia, Libya) and it's a Force Multiplier for the Navy.

A UAV is not able to carry the same amount of weapons, conduct difficult large scale oerations or show such kind of force projection over hostile airspace.
Short example in Libya Haftars whole Air Force would not exist anymore, TSK would gain air superiority and support GNA ground forces.

VTOL variant of TF-X will not happen that's for sure.

I doubt that any other country will develop a VTOL jet the next 20 years, so the only options right now are F-35B or old Harriers.

Or speed up Mius project.

Or speed up Mius project.
Is this a joke. MIUS CTOL will be a shorter turbojet engine tender compared to the turboprop powered auctions that will take off, the subsonic stay in the air. The friend talks about TF / X.

No, I have to contradict. It is not that I assume, Turkey cannot develop anything and I'm well aware that most in this section think of me that way, but it must be realistically.

To think TAI can develop a true fifth generation fighter alone from scratch is in the league of the Raptor is impossible. So far TAI has only assembled components are systems for others but developed they have nothing comparable of a jet trainer, let alone a stealth fighter. Therefore my point is not to diminish the Turkish achievements, but I think they should be realistic ... and a VTOL capable fighter developed from a jet-trainer than not even has flown is plain naive and anything but realistic.

My fear in fact is that after years of announcing ever mote and more and more more capable systems you will end up like India, with lots of fancy models, chest bumping announcements and no-one will take you seriously.

But again, make what you want.

I think they wil follow same way like China. Purchasing medium-sized companies who develop high-end products. Buying some licence and if possible some Tranfering of Technology and Brain-Gain from abroad. Nothing from scratch. With all these, and their own experience on defence sector it is possible.

No, I am not joking. Using unmanned aircraft would make more sense.

TAI will fly supersonic Goksungur this year. Even this is not comparable to TF / X. UAVs can only support F16s until TF / X arrives.

Guys what are you telling?? , instead of F35 people speaking to purchase some GAP filler fighters such as F15 or F16!!

Neither MMU nor unmanned fighters exist.
If you really want to be realistic , you look at current existing fighters in order to immediately produce.
Why not discussing production of F15 or F16 or AV8? There was a stealthty f15" silent eagle" project for KSA, why not to produce under licence in Turkey?

I really wonder if these guys are with us in defence.pk?

Could you please stay on topic, which is the TFX and other Turkish trainers but surely not any random ide like VTOL developments, carrier-borne types and the eventual purchase of additional F-16s or even F-15s!

Something else ? It is non of your business.

Guys lets speak about how to fill the gap because of f35s. It is being said that TurAF will place an order of F16. Have you ever heard?

^he is right tho, this thread is dedicated for TF-X and not an alternative for F-35.

Bingo. Turkey is trying to do a lot of that and is on the right track.

@cabatli_53

Hi bro, just want to ask a simple question.

Do TFX and Hurjet programs get effected from Coronavirus outbreak in term of funding ?

Bro, I think These programs won’t get big effect. Maybe the big strategic programs may face some delay but they will proceed in their natural direction.

If that is the case, it is a smart decision. If there is any reduction in state budget to combat Covid19 economical effect, it should be taken from defense procurement post, and not from strategic research program.
