If Turkey succeeds in building this 5th generation fighter jet then Pakistan will be its 1st foreign customer Inshallah
Actually there is no critical thing except engine that Turkey cannot produce. Turkey developed AESA radar and tested it, also Turkey is very good with EO cameras. Acording to TAI, which sign contract with the government, Turkish lcal engine will be ready in 13 years from now fro this jet..

even if it doesnt get into production or fails to achive 5gen level, the amount of R&D byproducts from project like this would be worth the money and time invested. It will undoubtly mature various sectors of turkish defense industry by leaps and bounds..
I totally agree. Giant projects like this really boosts a country's both civillian and military sector. Money invested on projects like this returns much more capital at the long run.

:dance3: Can't wait anymore...

ANKA, HÜRJET, GÖKBEY and ATAK are also there.

What about ATAK-II?

Mission computer? RAM? Cockpit?...?

Mission computer and Cockpit is not a big deal. Actually Turkey showed TFX cockpit several times and Turkey also produce cockpit for f35..

I have my doubt about mission comouter, million lines of software codes are not an easy thing. One false programmed code can lead to a disaster.

We Turks are good at programing. Our simulators and the softwares are were popular among Nato Standarded armies.

Turkey has been one of the best in software side, look at their network enabled warfare capability, only UK and US has it currently, same about their Milgem and its combat management system same like Genesis...
on the other hand, Turkey changed all their f16 cockpit and source code with their own software, so thats is the last last thing you have to worry about..

TAI is in preliminary design stages and Project Azm is in the last cylce of Conceptual design. Both nations are cooperating with each other. Hopefully we might see 2 prototypes in 10 years. TAI will get there earlier.
