'ICC has no problem with Pakistan cricket team offering namaz on ground but MS Dhoni...'

MS Dhoni has found a supporter in Pakistan born political activist Tarek Fatah who lives in Canada now. MS Dhoni was surrounded by controversy after he sported Indian Para forces insignia on his gloves during India’s first match against South Africa.

Tarek Fatah, who is a hardcore critic of Pakistan has some controversial remark to make on Dhoni’s glove issue. After ICC requested BCCI to remove the symbol from Dhoni’s gloves, Fatah took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, “The @ICC has no problem with the entire Pakistan cricket team marking territory by praying on the cricket field, denigrating Christians and Jews (part of Muslim ritual prayer) but find insignia on @Msdhoni's gloves inappropriate.”

WTF! International Cricket Council @ICC orders Indian wicketkeeper Lt. Col. @MSDhoni to remove his Army insignia on his gloves. #DhoniKeepTheGlove & @BCCI shd back him to the hilt. In a World Cup where Islamist moustacheless beards r tolerated, Dhoni's gloves r harmless. #CWC19

The International Cricket Council (ICC) cited clothing rules and regulations states that it does not permit the display of messages that relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes during an international match.

The ICC has issued a statement today where they said, “The regulations for ICC events do not permit any individual message or logo to be displayed on any items of clothing or equipment. In addition to this, the logo also breaches the regulations in relation to what is permitted on wicketkeeper gloves.”

It will be interesting to see if MS Dhoni comes out with the same gloves or not when India will play against Australia on June 9 before meeting New Zealand on June 13. India will play their arch-rival Pakistan on June 16 at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Looks like tariq mental abilities r degrading by the day and so of the bhakts who use this special need person as excuse to equate praying of a global religion with poli using of military symbol of one country :)

lol i thought u are agint religious symbols arnt you ? is it just muslim beard that irritates you ?
The difference between literal and metaphorical is lost on you, you are keeping up just for the sake of it.. Show us evidences of how Harbhajan or for that matter any other Sikh Indian contravene the laid rules on a field of sport and i will tell you of your kind, and yes it includes your Punjabi Mussalman sidekick @RIWWIR too.

It is also his (Tariq Fateh's) bread and butter. He earns a lot for spewing venom against Muslims and Pakistan.

I think it was a different poster who claimed that any outward religious display should be banned. But yes your argument and that of most other logical people is right: whoever has a problem with a Muslim beard should automatically have the same problem with Hindu and Sikh or any other religious displays, otherwise they are being islamophobic. If anyone wishes to impose atheism onto the cricket pitch, good luck, ain't gonna happen as freedom to practice religion is a human right. What is rightly in question on this thread is display of any religious or political message on clothing during a game, Which as far as I can establish, breaches the ICC rules.

There is nothing to lol around. Cricket doesn't win me my bread, i want India to win every match that's being played, not only cricket, that extends to boxing, athletics, tennis, and so on. I hold Waqar Younis, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara and Wasim Akram in the same pedestal as Sachin Tendulkar, i cheered for Roger Federer in the Semis(always did) as i cheer for Mary Kom during her boxing bouts.

Sports transcends nationalism, it is just an art form like movies and songs. Did you think about the American atrocities whilst watching the latest Avengers edition. Give it a rest friend.

whatever dude you dodge the question .

I think Indian following tarek Fateh are actually an insult to those level headed Indians .. that dude has lost his mind long ago and now another chawal , idiot can't even differentiate between a religious prayer and an army symbol.

Better now India take full control over ICC.

LOL how do you plan to do that?

Words are cheap. Reading your vitriol one can easily conclude that nationalism triumphs over sanity in your specific instance.
