Pakistan’s narrative was that Kargil posts were occupied by Mujahideen volunteers who were not part of the regular Pakistani forces. PAF could not take part because it would have escalated the border incident into a full-fledged war.

India’s and Pakistan’s Lies Thwarted a War—For Now

Lying about facts to de-escalate tension in Kashmir is a playbook they’ve both used before.

“In May 1999, New Delhi discovered that Pakistani intruders had seized Himalayan posts in Kargil, part of Indian-controlled Kashmir. Initially, the Indian government believed that these infiltrators were scruffy mujahideen when in fact they were paramilitary soldiers, officered by Pakistan’s army. Curiously, India publicly maintained the fiction that they were militants well after their identity was discovered. Counterintuitively, the falsehood facilitated a de-escalation of a conflict that had already become a limited war.”

What ever the case may be, had we had political will at that time than the outcome of that advanture would have been different.

Mind you Pakistan still controls some of the important peaks post 1999 such as point 5353 which is still under Pakistan control.

I was reading about 2001-02 Standoff in which I read that IAF Miarage 2000s bombed our Army checkposts but didn't read similar about PAF

Hmm you seem to know something that the usual PDF fellow does not know.
Where are you getting the info from..??
Hot LOC, NOTAMS for almost 2 months, economic downtrend etc.. all point to a very stressful situation for Pakistan.

there was absolutely no strike in 2002 by IAF, just another surgical fart by indians which ws created out of nowhere in 2012 in some shitty column written by some shitty dark skinned indian. dont belive every propaganda piece

Where do you think we are in a 'weak' position..?
PAF gave a jaw breaking reply to IAF on 27th Feb, 2019. GOP, outplayed GOI on diplomatic front, and you still call it a weak position? Just look at the tone of international players after 27 Feb, 2019 with Pakistan.
Just answer my question, are you a supporter of PMLN?

How authentic are these tweets?

As it says, it was a stand off....for almost a year with close to a million soldiers were eyeballing each other.
Not a single bullet was fired however India lost close to a 1000 men from mine and vehicle accidents.
No air attacks took place.
