What if the Subcontinent was ONE country?

Its just a assumption no need to get serious or dive into pointless debates, we all know thats never going to happen.

Few mistakes

  • Did not include Andaman & Nichobar Islands
  • Did not include Afghanistan
  • Lakshadweep and Maldives are separate

seeing how india is right know great that didnt happen.. no need of beef ban

unless there is no democracy or some special democracy

anyways civil war etc could be possible

thankfully he didnt. One of hi proposals was that the indian gov. would not be able to enforce laws in modern dau pak without consent of te majority of the population How is that supposed to work out?

with that being said nehru was partially at fault as wellm Neru was a socialist who believed in big gov. And as anyone who studies history knows, big gov. always fails. It seems jinnah wanted to follow soething more like us federalism. Of course he made a huge mistake by rejecting sardar patels offer of giving india hydeeabad invexcange for kashmir, because he lost both and helped create his"moth eaten pakistan." perhaps if both sides had been more reasonable, they could have worked out a better solution more tolerable to both sides that would have resulted in less future conflict and bloodshed
Mate, creation of Pakistan was destined so all these incidents were meant to happen and InshaAllah Pakistan will rise and shine.

in my first life i was chandragupta maurya.
I think more like chimgardar :lol::lol:

i agree some things in history are just inevitable. the only scenario i can see where the subcontinent is united is if pakistan did not accept islam.

Where did you learn English from? Really I would say take a gun and shoot your English teacher because he or she did a pretty bad job.

Partition was beneficial for all parties except Bangladesh as they thought they will get entire Bengal with North East India as well as Arakan of Myanmar.
Don't know why one should oppose it..only extremists opposes it back then like Deoband clerics,Hindu Mahasabha etc and only extremists want it back .

Jinnah, unlike Patel and Co., was a man of principles. He refused Patel's offer stating that he could not coerce the ruler of Hyderabad, an independent princely state, to accede his state to India against his will.

Perhaps a Mughal king would still be ruling but with some sort of democratically elected govt under a PM and a council of provinces / states.

Im going even before that for "India" to be united today (like say Mauryan or Gupta rule but a much more longer and stronger episode of it that would leave a better imprint as far as internal resilience, sustained political system and defence to foreign invasion while promoting greater internal cohesion like say Emperor Qi of China did with his uni-language edict etc). Mughals already sowed a lot of division and long term culture conflict and instability imo for a cohesive state to exist at large frontier border (with multi-society state inside it)....especially when there were more potent united and power projecting ones stemming from the West at crucial time in history. Basically I'm saying the issue lies with that multi-society needing to be inherently less-multi for a more unitary political setup to take place at the size in OP....rather than any recent empire rule (say mughals or british) at whatever specific time being able to address it.

More or less what we have today is about the "best" we can expect....given the vast scale of diversity and pervasive clash/conflict in this region stemming from that.

Would have been a disaster of epic proportions.
so glad the partition happened.
Only regret is people who voted for pakistan, they all didn't go.
