Zia changed lot of things in Pakistan and for Pakistan.
In this regard, things can be said from both sides.
All I want to say on what Bruce said is this video, at least he had the guts to stand up to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
At least he stood up to the Indians and told Rajiv Gandhi the home truth about Nuclear weapons Pakistan possess, right on his face.
He had the balls alright.
Not like Nawaz, he sent saris to Modi , giving him full access and intelligence to destroy Pakistan.
Nawaz should be prosecuted for treason, in an open trial. Pakistanis should demand it.

Gen Zia refused to bow to U.S pressure regarding our atomic programme.
PakMil needs to understand we do need such benevolent dictators as Gen Zia, Gen Hamid Gul and Gen Rahil Sharif. But they should not come through coupes and martial laws. Rather, through the democratic process. After they retire. That way they would have been able to participate better in national affairs and over the years the smear campaign and BS propogandas such as "Punjabi Army" would have been automatically discredited.
