There is a high chance of death if more than 100 lashes are delivered in one go. No body can survive 1200 lashes in one setting. If 1200 lashes are given in several settings, still it will pretty much disable a person by creating alot of scar tissue at the back and damaging muscles and spines. Such a person would need alot of reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation in order to be able to function normally. He used to be on PressTV sometimes:

It is...not to mention the behavior Pakistanis have to face at hands of Saudi officials working at the KSA's Airports...but look at us...no apathy at all on the predicament of a Pakistani Citizen!!!!!..and the ones who are mentioning here the similar plight of other common Pakistanis inside and outside Pakistan are a bunch of hypocrites who are NOT able to see the common denominator here which is "CITIZEN OF PAKISTAN" irrespective of RACE, COLOR, CREED, RELIGION and ETHNICITY...what a sorry state of affairs...

If you say so. But even tough guys have the same physiology. I think he will have trouble later on, specially in tasks that require bending or turning since all that scar tissue will immobilize the back.

Saudis have done a huge mistake, the hatred against them will only increase in Pakistan.

I don't like ZH, but I can not stand the fact that a Pakistani has been caught while on Umrah visit.

Nothing will change..your identity is Islam not Pakistan..Pakistanis have a lot of reverence for Saudi as the land of prophet.

I don't think that lashing in SA is quite like what many people here seem to think (not that any lashing would be preferred), If I remember correctly (&and I may be wrong), the person administering the lashing has to have the Quran under his arm to prevent him for inflicting too much force (Quran falling down etc). More like public humiliation with some sting but unlikely to cause severe injuries.

No Quran is seen in the you tube videos, I suspect the "book under arm " is just propaganda. If indeed there was a Quran under the arm of the person administering the lashes and it fell down , then what? The lasher becomes the lashee?

RIYADH: Pakistani political commentator and alleged vicegerent of Yusuf Kazzab, Zaid Hamid, has been lashed over 150 whippings till date.

Hamid was detained while on a private visit to the Kingdom with his wife. He was arrested for speech against the Saudi government and against Arabs in a public gathering.

Zaid Hamid, previously known as Zahid Hamid was alleged supporter and benefactor of Yusuf Kazzab from Lahore who claimed to be a prophet. He was sentenced to death by a lower court of Pakistan and was murdered by a man named Tariq in jail.

Im no supporter of Hamid but whats happening to him , Pakistan govt should have stood behind him and supported him. But this you cant expect from a Noora govt at all.

About this Kazzab thing, he has denied it several times. Just like I can take it him being a follower of Kazzab, I can take his word too that he was not. This argument has been done and dusted and we as sane, educated and reasoning people must give a benefit and not drag him down on this despite his denials.
