Yudh Abhyas 2013 at Fort Bragg Begins

I always thought these exercises also had a degree of showcasing/selling certain equipments to India. Twice now I've seen Indian soldiers firing Javelin ATGMs during these exercises and India just so happens to be looking for such products, India was interested in the Stryker a few years back so in 2009 the US brought them to India- the most they had taken to any nation outside the US,Iraq or Afghanistan! Cope India showcased the C-130Js and C-17s and what are the two latest transports the IAF has ordered?!


Same goes for the M777, Apache, Chinook etc


No complaints from me- it's good the Indian military is getting exposed to such stuff- VERY good!

Just watched a few videos of the Y/A-13 and a few more pix on another forum and found (my keen interest) that the helmet covers are of stretch mesh types (same as those used as scarves). Not the canvas / poplin weave with ribstop . The mesh use is a good idea I would say - however, I wonder how it would function in very thick/thorny foliage environments.

It could be that they used the headscarves as helmet covers. And I say this because I have seen some pictures up close which suggest that (some pix from an Indian forum). Sorry , I can't provide links to that forum as I might fall in violation of the rules (?)

AFAIK another Indo-China military exercise is set to be held in October this year.

if I was to guess I'd say these were the M4s of the "enemies" they have taken out in this simulated CQB exercise. I have seen IA troops following this practice of taking the weapons from the enemies they have killed in Urban warfare so as to ensure the weapon does not fall into wrong hands.


Both US M4s either way.

Have a weird theory, the non para units have no camo. I think we are using american gear for the regulars. Notice kneepads with brown colour same ones seen in a photo of para sf

All others get American ones. Secretly I think Para's must be thinking the M4s are ****.
