Haridwar, January 14
Yog guru Ramdev said today that India is on the verge of becoming a superpower and the way to attain this passes through yoga, ayurveda, spirituality and morality.
The occasion was the beginning of the seven-day yoga health camp at Shraddhalaya Phase-II of the Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar. Prior to teaching yoga asanas, Ramdev said that in this world of 700 crore-odd people, Indians are about 125 crore, which is a major share of the global population.
We need to march ahead in terms of spirituality, morality, technology and humanitarian work, which can be achieved via yoga and ayurveda, he said.
The yog guru cited the inclination of western countries to spirituality as compared to their previously out-and-out materialistic approach as an indicator of the changing times.
He warned that while the west is looking towards the east, we need to make our younger generation well versed with yoga and ayurveda and impart them moral teachings.
Extending wishes to the people on Lohri and Makar Sankranti, Ramdev said these festivals are harbingers of change in the way nature operates and we need to imbibe this in our lives.
The seer called on people to adhere to a healthy lifestyle and use ‘swadeshi’ as India is on the path of becoming a global superpower once again.
At the health camp, people are undergoing health check-up and are taking medical treatment from ayurvedic experts. The camp is being supervised by Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishan.
