Yet another US drone strike in Pakistan
Global Village Space |

A suspected U.S. drone strike killed several Pakistani Taliban militants in North Waziristan close to the Afghanistan border, one militant commander and multiple intelligence sources said on Thursday.

The air strike, which happened on Wednesday, would only be the second drone attack inside the nuclear-armed nation since U.S. President Donald Trump took office in January.

The drone strike supposedly targeted the Haqqani network local commander, which US accuses Pakistan of harboring in the restive FATA region. Pakistan denies these charges.

Pakistan’s reaction to this drone strike
“Unilateral actions, like drone strike, etc., are counterproductive and against [the] spirit of…ongoing cooperation and intelligence sharing being diligently undertaken by Pakistan,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) quoted Gen Bajwa as saying.

Reacting to the US drone strike on a militant hideout in Orakzai Agency on Tuesday, Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said here on Wednesday that “unilateral actions like drone strikes” were counterproductive.

“Unilateral actions, like drone strike, etc., are counterproductive and against [the] spirit of…ongoing cooperation and intelligence sharing being diligently undertaken by Pakistan,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) quoted Gen Bajwa as saying.

“Pakistan Army is capable of taking effective measure if actionable intelligence is shared,” he said, referring to the drone strike in the Spin Thall area of Orakzai Agency adjacent to North Waziristan Agency.

Pakistan has been plagued by terrorism since the beginning of its military operations in tribal areas in 2004. The US, has regularly conducted drone strikes in Pakistan. However, in recent years the intensity of drone strikes have gone down considerably.

Pakistani military and civilian leadership consider these drone strikes a major reason of fanning terrorism in the nuclear-armed country. The Pakistani branch of Taliban known simply as the TTP, used these drone strikes as a pretext to target the government and civilian installations in the country, accusing them of supporting the US in its unending war on terrorism.

Pak Army has cleared N wazirtan from terrorists so why drones are needed now.Pakistan should shoot them down

.
ISIS is capturing areas in Afghanistan and American's are busy droning Haqqani .. US is helping ISIS and trying to push ISIS into Pakistan, just like they did with TTP back in 2000's .
Yes you are right, Pakistan must be extra vigilant guarding the border with Afghuniland, Americans are double faced and hypocrites when it comes to defeating terrorism, ISIS is gaining strength in Afghuniland, its clear Americans are supporting ISIS for a second wave of devastating terrorism in Pakistan.

.
Looks like our american friends want to create a new 'corridor' for certain elements to have free traffic.

90.000 Pak lives offered at the altar of foreign sponsored terror...

May the Universe keep Paks safe from the next round...

Hopefully, Pak Security Establishment and politicos are alive to the emerging Darkness.

After OBL, sharing of intelligence is out of the equation. It's clear that US of A does not trust its ally Pakistan.
Pakistan should shoot them down
Don't you think this would have happened long time ago if it could. As the sole superpower now, america does what it feels is right, no one to question her actions.
Look how trump just brushed the paris climate accord into the bin.

.
Once in a blue moon drone strike ...clearly Americans have ran out of targets in Pakistan.

.
Instead of issuing pointless statements it would had been better if drones are shot down. But for that you need balls something both the political and military leadership lack. So we are good with the statements only for now.

After OBL, sharing of intelligence is out of the equation. It's clear that US of A does not trust its ally Pakistan.

US disclosed "declassified documents of liaquat ali khan murder" just because of supporting afghanistan's reservation over pakistan...
this Recent incident proved my claim..
The drone attack came days after Afghan security officials accused the Haqqani network

Pakistan had/has only one reservation which US is not willing to understand, pakistan don't want anarchy and civil war inside pakistan and also pakistan don't want to destabilize Iran as US want to do.. because of this reservation pakistan always be in trouble..

to understand all the things you have to go in past... let me remind you some hursh history to understand.

most of people really concern that why osama bin laden found in pakistan and there were taliban's head then we should first ask a question to U.S why they strengthen those butchers? it is really easy to blame a weaker country officially but it's really hard to ask even a single hursh question officially, publicly from super power(U.S) especially if they are master to destabilize your country by spreading false propaganda around the world..
Taliban, al-quada had been created by U.S against soviet union.. Pakistan had nothing to do with it, pak always helped U.S because still pak is a weaker country economically and could'n t face the world ignorance, sanctions so pak decided to go with U.S in order to capture Osama bind laden in afghanistan. that time pakistan had long unsafe, unsecure border with afghanistan called durand line & that time pakistan never faced any attack from afghan soils therefore pakistan never considered to secure the western border so anyone could easily travel across the border... that is why taliban succeed to build many hideouts in pakistan without any permission by pak establishment & army.. but now all the hideouts are being eradicated during army operations. we cant eradicate all the terrorist organization at the same time it will take time and we are doing bit by bit which U.S, india and afghanistan are not willing to understand.

we provided shelter to osama bin laden because we didn't want any anarchy and civil war inside Pakistan.. we had our rightful reservations that if we hand over OBL to US then US can withdraw it's troops soon from Afghanistan and Pakistan have to face massive terrorist attacks by taliban, so we decided to secure Duran line in 2008 during Musharraf era, first Pakistan had to secure pak-afghan border then it could be easy to handle terrorists living inside Pakistan because when we would able to cut off the chain, supply and movement of terrorist wings across the border then we can able to eradicate the inside terrorist otherwise terrorist keep on moving from one side to another.

but unfortunately instead of supporting Pak, President Bush administration interfered to not fence the durand line, U.S called this act against humanitarian because of afghan traveller those travel on daily bases (either illegally or legally). instead U.S offered to pak that they will provide technology to watch out the movement along the border but U.S never delivered that technology.. if once we achieved our target to secure Duran line we were surely gonna hand over OBL to US. but U.S killed OBL and pak had to suffer 70 thousands lives and still suffering from troubles militarily, economically and have spent about $150 billion in 16 years (more than U.S aid to pak military) . any country intelligence only think to protect own country and ISI did the same.. there were nothing wrong in it.

Some CIA agents in pakistan including shakeel afridi knows the real truth and even pak secrete agency knows the truth of U.S propaganda to invade afghanistan, iraq that is the biggest reason to target Pak intelligence agency & now military by U.S influential Nations... after that U.S allowed india in afghanistan to establish indian influence with indian agency..and now india is busy for doing dirty jobs by using mercenaries against pak.
those people who blame Pakistan for everything they should have enough courage to ask the question from U.S that if they could trial saddam hussein for chemical weapons (those weapons never yet captured) then why were they so much helpless to trail OBL publicly rather then killing him? or they could even keep watching the OBL movement by using CIA agents in pakistan..

FROM STARTING PAKISTAN HAS ONLY ONE CONCERN THAT WE DON'T WANT ANARCHY AND CIVIL WAR NEITHER IN OUR LAND NOR IN OUR NEIGHBOURS, BUT LOOKS LIKE U.S IS NOT WILLING TO UNDERSTAND OUR RESERVATIONS, AND THEY ALWAYS ACT AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF ONGOING COOPERATION AND INTELLIGENCE SHARING BEING DILIGENTLY UNDERTAKEN BY PAKISTAN IN ORDER TO SECURE PAKISTAN FROM ANARCHY BUT U.S RECENTLY DID DRONE STRIKE WHICH WILL CAUSE MORE ANARCHY IN PAKISTAN.

THEY ARE EVEN CREATING HURDLES TO SECURE PAK-AFG BORDER FROM BEGINNING WHICH SHOWS THAT THEY DON'T WANT PEACE IN OUR REGION.

simple we don't want anarchy and civil war inside pakistan or in our neighbours... if we will face this brutality then pak neighbour also have to face the same in future.. U.S want to destroy this region because U.S see this region as future threat and unfortunately you (india) is U.S new slaves and even U.S will backstab you.. they are selfish from the core of their heart

Some deductions from the statement of COAS
1-No intel was shared with PA about the operation.
2-2nd Drone strike inside KPK now, a more aggressive approach by US that they would chase their targets anywhere even within the administrated areas.
3-Weak response from PA, almost apologetic.
4-The successful strike indicates that
A-PA still lacks appropriate radar coverage.
B-Forces decided not to engage the drone despite detecting the drone. (If radar coverage was available)
Aftermaths.
1-US is able to prove her point again that Pakistan remains a safe heaven for Haqqani network
2-That Haqqanis are now moved out of FATA and hiding or being hidden, whatever the case maybe, other parts of the country.
3-That she will disregard the sovereignty of Pakistan if her demands aren't met
4-Pakistan's stance of "non interference and not allowing her land to be used against other countries" is sabotaged at least for Afghanistan.
US has in past accused Pakistani intel community at least once for not being able to protect the shared information

The latest incidents bring to a total of four bomb-making sites that the U.S. has shared with Pakistan only to have the terrorist suspects flee before the Pakistani military arrived much later. The report does not bode well for attempts by both sides to mend relations and rebuild trust after the U.S. raid on May 2 that killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, a Pakistani army town only 35 miles (56.32 kilometers) from the capital Islamabad.
