Earlier this month, on April 8, US Defence and Air Attaché Joseph Emanuel Hall's car ran a red light and rammed into a motorcycle in the federal capital, killing one man on the spot and injuring another.

The Foreign Office had later summoned the United States Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale to protest the killing of the young man. According to Foreign Office spokesperson, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua recorded a strong protest with the US envoy, who expressed grief over the incident and assured full cooperation from the US embassy in investigating the incident.

No one gives value to slave's life

When Pakistani political and military leadership is slave of US, then general public is just like slaves of slaves ... and that much value is being given to them by US viceroy and his staff in Islamabad.

Has anyone in Pakistan got courage to protest, even in slightest volume ?

Americans killed our 28 Soldiers including 2 Officers at Salala, at that time our generals were enjoying foreign courses in America and politicians were laundering money. What do you expect?

US diplomat are a risk to Pakistani public, there numbers should be reduced in Islo.

Seems like trend in US circle is if you want to move to nice cozy US office , just hit someone in Pakistan with your car and you will get a transfer

This mentality has to stop

Sir G, US dogs in Pakistan needs to be harnessed; as you mentioned their numbers to be reduced as well as size of their fort like embassy to be altered in reference to the level of our present relations.

That's how these Americans drive in the USA, only God knows how they get a license to drive. It clearly tells them in their driving theory test that you must not drink and drive or drug and drive , yet many of them still do. As for drive by shootings, lets not even talk about that.

ISLAMABAD: A motorcyclist was injured after being hit by a US Embassy car on Islamabad’s Constitution Avenue on Sunday night.

Police said Nazakat Aslam Awan, 27, and Muhamad Waseem were riding motorcycle when they were hit by a Jeep on Constitution Avenue near the Pak Secretariat complex at around 9:40pm.

The car was being driven by US Embassy Second Secretary Chad Rex Ausburn.

Police, who were on duty nearby, immediately responded to the emergency and shifted both the motorcyclists to PIMS.

Awan suffered a head injury while Waseem a few bruises. Ausburn produced his diplomatic card issued by the foreign office along with a valid driving licence to police.

Subsequently, authorities shifted both the car and diplomat to the Secretariat Police Station for legal formalities.

Ausburn was still at the police station when this report was filed at around midnight, but it was expected he would be handed over to the US embassy officials after brief legal formalities.

It was not immediately clear which one of the two drivers was responsible for the accident.

Auburn enjoys diplomatic immunity, so cannot be detained or arrested by the police.

SSP-Operations Najeebur Rehman Bugvi said the diplomat would not be released until the Foreign Office verifies his diplomatic status and immunity.

“Police have prepared an SOP to deal with such incidents, and as per the SOP diplomatic document would not be accepted by the police [for release] without its verification by the Foreign Office,” he said.

The officer said police were reviewing the incident and had also sought help from the traffic police to fix responsibility for the accident.

The incident comes only weeks after a US diplomat hit and killed a motorcyclist and injured another through rash driving in the federal capital.

A pity, nothing can be done, these guys will get away with this crime.
