The Arabs never fought the Ottomans in WW1 except for one band led by The Hashmite Kingdome who were promised by Britain to have control over Arabia and the entire Sham (Sham countries are Jordan Syria Lebanon and Palastine) but were backstabed once they reached Jordan by the British and he was caught in a bind because the deal was with the British for him to take control over all of Sham but Syria and Lebanon were under french control (Both Syria and Lebanon went in an armed struggle against the french and WW2 helped them gain their independence quicker) so the king of the Hashmite kingdom decided to settle in "Transjordan" and not Jordan. Transjordan means both Palastine and Jordan this is why he kept betraying the other Arab leaders in trying to take all of Palastine for himself and not set out to liberate it like they planned (One of the reason the first war was lost) and while he was in Jordan King Abdulaziz in Saudi Arabia took over the Hijaz area so it only added more insult to injury for him.
Bottom line is that Arabs actively destroyed Ottomen empire.
However Arabs cannot be blamed for Ottoman destruction. They were sick, and they were going to die soon anyway.
Where Palistinians made mistake is to not sense the change in world especially during and after WWII.
During WWII, Peli leader Mufti Azam became Hitler / Nazi's toady. He was given some kind of ministry in the sham court of Hitler.
Once the WWII was over, Palis sided with Commie Soviets.
This was a series of blunders by Palistinian leaders including Mufti Azam and then Arafat to pick the wrong super power.
In both cases first the Nazis and then Commies were defeated and what they say! If you side with losers you will be a loser.
Jordanian king begged Palistinians not to do terror attacks on Israel. But they didn't listen. When Israeli army came knocking, these so called Fidayeen ran like rats.
Another cruel thing that Fidayeen and Arabs nationalists never understood that hijacking airlines is a dumbest thing to do.
The whole world peed on them when they saw Palestinians hijacking planes.
Terror without correct political alliance is loose loose proposition. But Palestinians and Arab nationalists continued doing so as if there was no end.
Saudis btw started out right. They were forward looking, they picked the right super power, and they controlled themselves until 1980s.
However unfortunately the educated Saudi youth succumbed to the mirage of pan-Islamism and thus ended up siding with terror.
The bottom line is that WWI actions were not the only mistake made by Arabs.
There were blunder after blunder after blunder that resulted in the current mess.
peace.
