BEIJING/SINGAPORE -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday said China is open to joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact, in a likely move to bolster the country's presence in Asia while the U.S. focuses on its presidential transition.
——
no chance: we will veto any attempt of China to join the pact.
Tpp is only for righteous nations.
Japan will veto any China entry 100 percent.

.
Great if true.

The CPTPP has high standards for greater economic integration and it will make a difference to the region if China can commit to those standards. More trade and greater economic harmonization is win-win for everyone in the long run.

Vietnam is a significant partner that is more important than Japan or Singapore, I bet.
Begin by beating the GDP of some cities in China first, Khmer Krom.

It is Japan that's seeking Chinese entry, and looks like it is willing to amend the rules to cater to China's need.

Japan, Vietnam want China and UK to abide the rules if they want to join. I think the chinese just want to play tricks here. I doubt their serious intention.

CPTPP is a trade bloc without a market. For China to join, some of its rules must be changed. China is not going to sacrifice it's sovereignty and regulatory independence over its financial markets. We'll see how desperate Japan is.

He is fake vietnamese holding german passport thinking he really speaks for Vietnam.
Another fake japanese speaks....

Japan didn't bother to wait for the possibility of US to rejoin. Went straight to invite China instead so Japan knew from the start already China will be molding the rules. An initiative started by the US as a China containment policy has now ended up China shaping the rules. I sense some irony here

LOL it's Japan that's trying to bring China in, not the other way around.

Double LOL for thinking Vietnam has any real influence with a smaller economy than my hometown.

Triple LOL for calling yourself "righteous nation" like such a thing exist.

Just stop. You're making my sides hurt from laughing.

just lip service. TPP is long dead since Trump threw it away like a used condom.
While RCEP is another kowtow to daddy Jap and white master Aussie when they still block Huawei 5G, interfering in Uighur-HK issues and CN still have to beg them for the deal
